SAT, one of the most popular tests for admissions to US undergraduate colleges, is now beginning to be widely accepted in India as well, thanks to SAT Scholarships offered by College Board under ‘College Board India Scholars Program’.
College Board India Scholars Program, initiated in the year 2018-19, makes SAT Scholarships available for Indian students belonging to financially weaker families. Test takers who score more than 1300 in the SAT, and whose family income is below a certain threshold, are offered 100% tuition-free scholarships to study at some of the top private universities in India, that are part of the India Global Alliance.
The Scholarship Program is back in its second year with full-tuition scholarships for Indian students. This year, test-takers will have even more Indian universities to choose from.

What is SAT?
For almost a hundred years, the SAT has been the most widely used standardized test for college admissions in the US. The exam measures a student’s academic strengths with a strong emphasis on measuring reasoning, knowledge, skills, and understandings most important for college and career readiness and success. The SAT, combined with the grades or GPA, serves as hard evidence of a student’s academic preparedness for the rigours of college-work. The test is owned, developed and published by College Board, an American Non-Profit.
