APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

To apply for APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship, student must meet the following eligibility criteria to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Students who have secured admission under merit seats in government, government-aided, or government-recognized self-financing polytechnic courses.
  • Preference will be given to students from Below Poverty Line families. If eligible BPL candidates are not available, students from Above Poverty Line families belonging to minority communities with an annual family income up to ₹8 lakh will also be considered.
  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Kerala.
  • 30% of the total scholarships are reserved for female students. If the female quota remains unfilled, eligible male students will be considered.
  • Selection of minority students will be done based on annual family income and academic merit, in proportion to the minority population.
  • The scholarship will be awarded only once during the entire course duration.
  • Second-year and third-year polytechnic students are also eligible to apply for the scholarship.
