Buddy4Study: Tell us briefly about your academic and professional journey till now.
Anamika: I completed Class 11 and 12 from Indore. I received CM super 100 scheme which supported my Class 12th studies. Later, I went to Bhopal for my college studies. I completed Accounting (honors) degree from the Excellence College, Bhopal.
Buddy4Study: What drove you to pursue Economics?
Anamika: It was sheer interest for the subject which drove me further to pursue Economics in College. I am preparing for UGC-NET (Economics) exam so that I can teach Economics at higher education level.
Buddy4Study: What were the key challenges that you faced during the course of your journey to reach here?
Anamika: I was born and raised in a rural area where it was very hard to imagine about higher education and pursue your passion. We were not financially sound enough to think about pursuing higher studies or a career in academia.
Buddy4Study: What has been your source of inspiration?
Anamika: My source of inspiration is my Mother. She really works hard to take care of me and my family. Her hard work inspired me to take charge of my studies and do well. I became more ambitious to create a bright future for myself and reduce the burden on my parents.
Buddy4Study: How has your family supported you in your venture to pursue this course?
Anamika: There were many instances when my neighbors told me not to go for higher education in big cities. They were of a notion that I would not be able to take care of myself and pursue studies without having any help or motivation. But my parents firmly believed in my efforts and interests to pursue higher studies. I also trusted my strengths and decided to move out of my village to study in a big city.
Buddy4Study: How did you come to know about the Fair & Lovely Foundation Scholarship? What were the steps followed to avail the scholarship?
Anamika: My cousin informed me about Fair & Lovely Scholarship by sending me a photo of a newspaper advertisement on the scholarship through Facebook. I applied for the scholarship according to the ad. I got selected for a telephonic interview. After that, I was asked to send documents via courier to get them verified by the authorities. In the end, I was awarded the scholarship.
Buddy4Study: What are your ambitions in the future and how do you plan to execute them?
Anamika: My ambition is to become a teaching professional in the field of Economics. I am preparing for the UGC-NET exam so that I can pursue Ph.D. program after qualifying the exam.
Buddy4Study: What piece of advice would you impart to other potential aspirants who wish to pursue higher education but are constrained by various challenges?
Anamika: I had a strong will power to achieve more than what I could possibly achieve. I have seen a lot of struggles but I kept myself strong. I had set a goal that no matter what problems come up, I will keep fighting them. Hard work shifts the situation to your favor. Fortune favors the brave.
