The Ministry of Social Welfare Department, Government of India and various state governments offer these scholarships to support the education of meritorious and needy students from SC category at both pre-matric and post-matric level. SC category students who have taken admission at undergraduate or postgraduate level are eligible for this scholarship. They must have completed Class 12. Also, their annual family income must be less than INR 6 lakh from all sources.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Assam
Open for SC students of Assam, this scholarship offers financial assistance for studies in Class 9 and 10. The annual family income must be less than INR 2.5 lakh from all sources. They must not be getting any other centrally-funded pre-matric scholarship.

Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Assam

Also, they are required to have passed matriculation or higher secondary examination from a recognized university or board.

Dr Ambedkar Grant of Financial Assistance to SC Students Studying in Professional Courses, Puducherry
Open for SC students of Puducherry, this scholarship offers financial assistance to students who are pursuing professional courses at government institutions or government recognized private colleges sponsored by CENTAC. They are required to have passed the higher secondary examination or equivalent to be eligible.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students (State Sector), Uttarakhand
SC category students who are domiciles of Uttarakhand are eligible for this scholarship. They must be studying in Class 1 to 10 at a state-recognized school. The annual family income must be less than INR 2 lakh from sources. The income limit is only applicable for students of Class 9 and 10. Also, the students are required to have passed the previous year examination.

Prerana Post Matric Scholarship for ST/SC/OBC/SEBC/EBC Communities, Odisha
The scholarship is open for students who are residents of Odisha and belong to SC/ST/OBC/EBC/SEBC categories. They must be pursuing studies at post-matriculation level i.e., Class 11 to post-doctoral level. The annual family income must be less than INR 2.5 lakh (for SC/ST students) and INR 1 lakh (for OBC/SEBC/EBC students). Furthermore, for OBC/SEBC students, the minimum percentage of marks in the previous examination must be 50% or equivalent.
