NIFT Scholarships 2026-27 – SARTHAK Financial Assistance Scheme
The SARTHAK Financial Assistance Scheme is NIFT’s primary need-based scholarship. It provides subsidised tuition fees to students from economically weaker backgrounds enrolled in regular UG and PG programmes across all NIFT campuses.
NIFT SARTHAK Scheme – Eligibility Criteria
1. Must be enrolled as a regular UG or PG student at a NIFT campus; NRI/NRI-sponsored students are not eligible
2. Annual household (parental) income must fall within the slabs specified under the SARTHAK policy
3. First-year students can apply irrespective of entrance exam rank or marks
4. From 2nd year onwards (UG: 2nd, 3rd, 4th year; PG: 2nd year), a minimum average of 6.00 SGPA in the last two consecutive semesters with no carry-forward in any subject is required
6. Students on Leave of Absence (LOA) or those who have previously availed LOA are eligible
7. Must have no record of major or minor disciplinary violation; involvement in any disciplinary case disqualifies the student for the remainder of the course
8. Must have cleared all previous dues before applying
9. Students already receiving financial assistance from central/state government, PSUs, trusts, or private persons are not eligible
11. SC/ST/OBC students must apply on the National Scholarship Portal or state-level scholarship portals and submit proof of application to their campus.

SARTHAK Scheme Application Process – How to Apply?
Step 1: Visit the official CMS portal at cmsnift.com and log in using your student credentials
Step 2: Students with annual household income up to ₹8 lakh (as declared at the time of admission) will automatically see the SARTHAK application form on the portal
Step 3: Fill in all personal and parental income details; most fields are auto-generated from the student’s admission profile
Step 4: Upload all mandatory documents in self-attested format as required by the scheme
Step 5: Submit the student undertaking confirming the accuracy of all information provided
Step 6: Ensure the form is completely and successfully submitted before the campus deadline; incomplete forms will not be considered
Step 7: Carry original hard copies of all uploaded documents to the campus for physical verification on the date specified by the campus
Step 8: The Scrutiny Committee will review all applications; incomplete applications will be notified through CMS and students will be given 10 working days to resubmit with complete documents
Step 9: The Document Verification Committee will verify all original documents; if any one mandatory document is missing in the original, the application will be rejected
Step 10: Check the final list of SARTHAK recipients on the NIFT campus website or the CMS portal
SARTHAK Scheme Documents Required
1. Income and Asset Certificate in prescribed Format A, issued by the District Magistrate, Collector, Revenue Officer (not below the rank of Tehsildar), or Sub-Divisional Officer
2. Income Tax Returns (ITR) for the last three years
3. Proof of permanent residence, Aadhaar card, Passport, or Voter ID
4. PAN card photocopy of parents/guardian and the student
5. School leaving certificate for Class 10 and Class 12 (with proof of school fee, wherever possible)
6. Copy of tuition fee payment receipt for the ongoing semester
7. Undertaking from parent regarding contents of the SARTHAK application and documents submitted (Format B)
8. Bank statements for the last 12 months for all accounts, duly stamped and certified by the bank

NIFT Scholarships 2026-27 – UDAAN Means-cum-Merit Scheme
The UDAAN Scheme provides financial assistance to deserving NIFT students participating in international academic exchange programmes through NIFT’s partner institutions abroad. The scheme aims to promote global exposure in the fashion and design industry.
UDAAN Scheme Eligibility Criteria
1. Must be enrolled as a full-time regular student at a NIFT campus pursuing a course in fashion, design, or technology
2. Must have been selected for an international academic exchange programme at one of NIFT’s partner institutions abroad
3. Must be in the 4th to 7th semester (UG) or 2nd to 3rd semester (PG) at the time of application
4. Annual family income must not exceed ₹6 lakh per annum
5. Academic performance and student conduct are taken into account during selection
6. Must have no record of disciplinary action
7. Students receiving financial aid or scholarship from any other source are not eligible under UDAAN
UDAAN Scheme Benefits
The UDAAN scholarship covers the following expenses on actuals for the approved international programme (Summer Programme, semester exchange, or dual degree) at NIFT’s partner institutes:

3. Technology fee
4. Student activity fee
5. Recreation and athletics fee
6. Health services and health insurance
7. Travel expenses (economy class)
8. Visa fee
9. Subsistence allowance, ranging from US$3,000 to US$5,000 per semester depending on the location of the partner institute (Asian and Middle Eastern institutes: US$3,000; Oceanic and Australian institutes: US$3,750; American institutes: US$4,000; European institutes: US$5,000)
A maximum of three students are selected for the scholarship each year across all NIFT campuses.
UDAAN Scheme Application Process
Step 1: Shortlisted students meeting SARTHAK criteria submit the UDAAN application (Format A) online via CMS with mandatory documents, at the start of the semester preceding the programme.
Step 2: Submit the form and supporting documents (income affidavit, residence proof, passport/PAN copies, bank statements, SOP, category certificate) to the Centre Director via the course coordinator, with a ₹2,000 processing fee and ₹15,000 security deposit (post-dated cheque).
Step 3: The campus Scrutiny Committee conducts first-level desk scrutiny of income details and document completeness.
Step 4: The Screening Committee interviews applicants and shortlists three candidates per campus for Head Office.
Step 5: The Head Office committee interviews shortlisted candidates and finalises the UDAAN recipient list with the assistance slab.
