Students fulfilling the below eligibility criteria can easily apply for the Pathani Samanta Mathematics Scholarship –

PSMTS Odisha Eligibility Criteria

1. The applicant must be studying in an Odia medium Higher Secondary School affiliated to the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha.

2. Students studying in Class XI in an Odia medium CHSE-affiliated Higher Secondary School are eligible for the fresh scholarship.

3. Students who received PSMTS in Class XI and have been promoted to Class XII are eligible for renewal. The renewal is authenticated online by the concerned Higher Secondary School/Institution.

4. There is no income limit for this scholarship. Students from all economic backgrounds are eligible based purely on merit.

5. The student must be studying in a Government, Aided, or Recognised Odia medium institution affiliated to CHSE (O).

6. A student can avail more than one scholarship at a time, including PSMTS. There is no restriction on holding PSMTS along with other scholarships.

Not Eligible: Students studying in English medium Higher Secondary Schools, schools not affiliated to CHSE (Odisha), or institutions outside the State are not covered under PSMTS. Only Odia medium CHSE-affiliated schools are eligible.

Applications are submitted online only at scholarship.odisha.gov.in. Only students from the Top-2008 HSC Examination 2025 passouts (as per BSE Odisha’s list) can register for the 2026-27 cycle. Follow these steps:

Pathani Samanta Mathematics Talent Scholarship – Selection Process

A total of 1,000 students will be selected under the Pathani Samanta Scholarship, Odisha, based on the following selection criteria –

Merit Criteria for Selection of PSMTS, Odisha

1. The selection of awardees is based on the fulfillment of all prescribed eligibility conditions, including enrollment in Class XI or XII at an Odia-medium school affiliated with the CHSE.

2. The student’s record must undergo online authentication and validation by the Principal or Head of the concerned Higher Secondary School or Institution, as applications not validated by the institution will be treated as invalid.

3. The final selection list of 1,000 students is drawn based on their aggregate marks plus the marks secured specifically in Mathematics in the HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) examination, as provided by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha.

4. In the event of a tie between two or more students, the final position is determined by the marks secured in S.C.P. (Sanskrit, Commerce, or Political Science, as applicable).

Online Process Flow for Award of PSMTS

The following is the step-by-step process flow for the award of the Pathani Samanta Mathematics Talent Scholarship:

1. Top Students List: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, provides the list of top-ranked HSC examination-passed students to the Odisha State Scholarship Portal.

2. School-wise Display & Verification: The Higher Secondary School or Institute sees the list of selected students on their portal login. The administrator then verifies each student’s genuineness, checks their bank details (A/C number and IFSC code), and uploads the front page of their bank passbook.

3. Consolidation & Selection: OCAC, Bhubaneswar, identifies which schools the top-ranked students joined, displays eligible students on the institute’s portal login, combines all validated applications, and sends the final selection list of 1,000 awardees to DHSE (O).

4. Sanction & Payment: The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE), Odisha, issues the official approval and releases the scholarship funds directly to the student’s bank account through the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) scheme.

1. For renewal of scholarship, the names of selected students in the previous selection year will be listed in the Principal’s log-in ID on the State Scholarship Portal.

2. Only students who continue in the same academic year at the concerned Higher Secondary School must be authenticated online by the Principal.

3. If any student is found to have dropped out or is not promoted to Class XII, the Higher Secondary School shall NOT validate their record, and the renewal scholarship will be discontinued.

4. The Principal/Head of the Higher Secondary School is personally held responsible for the wrong authentication/validation of bank credentials provided by eligible students.
