MBA entrance exams: Key dates to remember

With multifarious career options available for students, MBA is emergin as one of the most sought-after educational prospect for them. It not just opens the gateway to broad networking and brighter career opportunities, but also creates a potential to earn higher pay package for prospective managers. With postgraduate degree, a graduate student in any discipline can pursue it by qualifying any of the renowned MBA entrance exams.

Here, we have prepared a list of top MBA entrance exams conducted across the nation along with their important dates for this year –

CAT (Common Admission Test)

Organized by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), one of the premier MBA institutes in India, CAT is surely a highly acclaimed entrance examination among MBA aspirants. With its score being valid across all the renowned IIMs and other institutions, the management students have to come across a tough competition in the examination.

Though the announcements for CAT 2018 have not yet been made, it is generally expected to be held in the month of November for which the application window remains open between August and September.

MAT (Management Aptitude Test)

Accepted at more than 600 management institutions, MAT is also a prominent MBA entrance examination in India, conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA). Unlike CAT, this examination is conducted four times in a year i.e. February, May, September and December.

Available in both computer-based (online) and paper-based (offline) mode, the examination will be held on 20 May 2018 and 6 May 2018 respectively for which the applications will be received till 27 April 2018.

XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)

After IIMs, the next big renowned MBA institute in India is Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur which provides admissions to students through its annual entrance examination – XAT. Being a computer-based management entrance test, the scores of XAT are widely accepted at 100+ management institutions including the Xavier School of Management and its associated institutions too.

The XAT examination for the year 2018 was held on 7 January 2018. However, the applications for the exam are generally received between August and December.

SNAP Test (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test)

To get admission in the MBA programmes offered by different management institutes of Symbiosis International University, students need to qualify the SNAP test, an annual entrance examination conducted by every year.

Buddy4Study - Education Loan

The announcements for this year examination have not yet been made. However, it is expected to be held in the month of December for which the application procedure will continue till November.

CMAT (Common Management Admission Test)

To add up to the prospects for management students, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) also organizes its annual management admission test for admissions to over 500 affiliated MBA institutions nationwide. Introduced in the year 2012, the examination usually tends to occur in the month of January every year, for which the registrations begin in the month of October and closes in the month of December.
