LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarships 2025 – Guidelines
- Post-graduation studies are not covered. This scholarship is only for undergraduate and diploma-level studies.
- To be eligible, you must have scored at least 60% in your last final exam.
- Your family’s total annual income from all sources must not exceed ₹4,50,000.
- Preference is given to students whose family income is between ₹0 and ₹2,50,000. If there aren’t enough applicants in this group, then students with family incomes between ₹2,50,001 and ₹4,50,000 will be considered.
- Selection is based on merit, which means the highest grades. For students applying after Class 12, their marks are the primary factor. Students who apply after completing Class 12 will be given priority over those who apply after 10th grade.
- Tie-breaker rules:
- If two students have the same percentage of marks, the one whose family has a lower income will be selected.
- If there’s still a tie, the decision will be based on an official financial assessment of the student’s needs.
- If you are already getting a scholarship from a private trust or institution, you are not eligible for this one. This rule does not apply to government scholarships (State or Central). However, if there is a tie in marks, a student who is not receiving any other scholarship will be given preference.
- If you enter a 2nd-year engineering course after getting a diploma, you are eligible as long as you scored at least 60% in your diploma.
- You must maintain a certain academic performance to keep receiving the scholarship.
- For Medicine and Engineering students: You need to score at least 55% and pass all subjects each year/semester.
- For all other courses (Arts, Science, Commerce, etc.): You need to score at least 50% and pass all subjects each year/semester.
- For girls on the “Special Scholarship” – You must score at least 50% and pass all subjects in your Class 11 exams.
- You must have regular class attendance.
- Only one student per family can get the scholarship. However, this rule may be relaxed to allow two students if the second applicant is a girl, or if both applicants are girls. If a boy and a girl from the same family apply at the same time and have a tie in marks, the girl will be given preference.
- This scholarship does not cover part-time, evening, night, correspondence, or open university courses.
- Courses like Chartered Accountant (CA), Company Secretary (CS), and Cost Accountant (ICMAI) are not eligible.
- If you switch to a new course after being selected, the scholarship will only be provided for the length of your original course. For example, if you change from a 4-year course to a 3-year course, the scholarship will only be paid for 3 years.
- You must submit an official income certificate from a recognised government authority.
- You cannot claim any scholarship payments more than 12 months after the academic year has ended.
- The scholarship can be stopped or cancelled if you break any of these rules.
