About The Program

The LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2026 is offered by the LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation. The scholarship is a financial award designed to support meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections, providing them with better opportunities for higher education and employment.

Scholarships are awarded under two categories –

  • General Scholarship: For students after Class 12/Diploma.

  • Special Scholarship: For students after Class 10 pursuing higher, technical or vocational education in India, including NCVT-affiliated ITIs.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

For General Scholarship [After Class 12th/Diploma]:

  • have passed the Class 12th exam (or its equivalent) with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA grade in the Academic Year 2023-24/2024-25/2025-26
  • have taken admission in the academic year 2026-27 for pursuing the first year degree course in one of the following fields:
    • Medicine (MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS),
    • Engineering (BE, BTECH, BArch), 
    • Graduation in any discipline, 
    • Integrated Courses, 
    • Diploma Course in any field or other equivalent courses, 
    • Vocational Courses through Government-recognized Colleges/Institutes, or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs)
  • have parents/guardian with an annual income not exceeding ₹4,50,000 per annum

For Special Scholarship [After Class 10th]:

  • have passed Class 10th exam (or its equivalent) with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA grade in the Academic Year 2023-24/2024-25/2025-26
  • have taken admission in the academic year 2026-27 for pursuing higher studies in the first year of Intermediate/10+2 pattern/Vocational or Diploma Courses through Government-recognized colleges/institutions or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI)
  • have parents/guardian with an annual income not exceeding ₹4,50,000 per annum
     

Note:- 

  • Applications from the low-income band will receive preference.
  • This scholarship is specifically for students pursuing their first degree, such as undergraduate programs or their equivalent (including integrated courses). It does not apply to students continuing their education through postgraduate studies.

The selected students will receive the scholarship in the following manner:
General Scholarship:-

Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:- 
Step 1:

Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to register. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID.)
Step 3: Navigate to the 'APPLY HERE FOR SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME'.
Step 4: Fill in the required details, upload the documents (if required), tick the checkboxes, and submit.

Note:- Once the online application is submitted, the candidate will receive an acknowledgement at the email ID provided in the online application.

Selection Criteria

The selection process for scholarships will follow a merit-based approach, considering both gender and eligibility criteria.

Terms and Conditions
  • Students who already receive scholarships from other trusts or institutions are ineligible for the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship. This rule, however, does not apply to students receiving government-funded scholarships for Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) students, whether received before or after being selected for this scholarship.
  • Students who enter the second year of an engineering degree program through lateral entry, or who begin their first year after completing a diploma in engineering, are eligible for this scholarship. This eligibility is contingent upon achieving a minimum of 60% marks in their immediate preceding diploma year.
  • Candidates who are pursuing courses under any stream through correspondence or part-time (evening or night classes) and/or through open universities shall not be eligible for the scholarship. 
  • Candidates who are pursuing Chartered Accountants (CA)/Company Secretary (CS)/ Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWA) or similar self-study courses are also not eligible for the scholarship.
  • Students must secure at least 55% marks or equivalent grades in their previous year's annual exams to retain their General Scholarship within the Medical or Engineering stream. Failure to meet this minimum performance requirement will result in the discontinuation of the scholarship. Additionally, students are expected to pass all subjects in every mid-term semester to maintain their eligibility.
  • Students must secure at least 50% marks or its equivalent grade in the previous year's exams to continue their General Scholarship for undergraduate programs (Arts, Science, Commerce, etc.),. Failing to do so will result in the scholarship being discontinued. Additionally, students must pass all subjects in every mid-term semester to maintain their eligibility.
  •  The students should be regular in attendance, for which the guidelines shall be decided by the competent authority of the school/college/university. 
  •  If a student violates any terms and conditions of the scholarship, the scholarship may be suspended or cancelled.
  • Any student discovered to have used false statements or forged documents to secure a scholarship will have their scholarship immediately revoked. Additionally, the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) Divisional Administration may, at their own discretion, require the student to repay the scholarship amount already received.
