Jharkhand Board Class 10 Results Declared- Pass Percentage Lowest since 2006

The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Tuesday declared the JAC Matric Class 10 results 2018 on the official website jac.nic.in, jac.jharkhand.gov.in and jacresults.com.

The exams were conducted for Class 10 from March 8 to March 21 this year at 954 centres across the state.

According to JAC, the overall pass percentage in JAC Matric Class 10 results 2018 is 59.48 per cent this year which is the lowest since 2006.

“We will review the reasons of falling pass percentage,” JAC chairperson Arvind Prasad Singh was quoted as saying by a news agency.

JAC chairperson informed that while the JAC Class 10 pass percentage has dipped, the quality of education has improved in the state.

Boys have performed better than girls this year. Out of 2,08,701 boys who had appeared for the exam, 61.79 per cent have cleared the examinations. And, among girls, the pass percentage is 57.29 per cent.

Tushar Ranjan of RES High School, Netarhat, was the state topper in the JAC Class 10 results by scoring 97.60%. Out of 500, he scored 488 marks. Amit Kumar from RES High School, Netarhat, came in the second position with 97.40%, while Amisha Kumari from Indira Gandhi Balika High School, Hazaribag, was in the third position by scoring 97.20%.

Around 4,30,000 students had appeared for the Jharkhand Class 10 examinations this year, out of which 2,54,830 students have qualified.

According to the JAC, Hazaribagh district recorded the highest number of passing students with 74.75 per cent followed by Ranchi at 72.93 per cent.

In what can be called as a surprise was that over 1,28,595 students failed this year’s Class 10 examination. Only 23% students secured the first position.

The announcement of JAC 10th result was delayed as the evaluation procedure took some time.

For the first time this year, the JAC had installed CCTV cameras at all exam and evaluation centres to ensure transparency. And, from registration to admit card issuance, the entire procedure was done online.

In 2017, the Jharkhand Matric Results were declared on 20 June. For the academic year 2015-2016, the Jharkhand 10th Result was declared on 30 May, 2016.
