Haryana’s CM Announces Free Education to Underprivileged Students

New Delhi, 25 October 2021 – The Government of Haryana, under Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, has announced that it will be providing free education to students whose family income is less than INR 1.80 lakh per annum. To qualify for the aid, students will be required to verify their family income. The government will be doing so to promote talented students who are unable to pressure their dream education due to financial constraints.

The CM also praised students who cracked the Civil Services Exam 2020 and JEE Advanced Exam 2021 under Haryana’s Super 100 Programme. He noted, “All of you are a great example that if you have talent, no one can stop you from achieving your dreams… no matter if you belong to a poor family. I hope that all of you will make Haryana proud in whichever field you will opt for.

Note: The ‘Super-100 Programme’ was started for meritorious students from Haryana’s government schools to prepare them for JEE and NEET examinations. As per the programme, 225 students who passed 10th class with more than 80% marks from government schools were eligible for free coaching, lodging, and travelling facilities.

Details of the Announcement

The chief minister made the announcement during a state-level felicitation programme held at Panchkula. He noted that the state government wants to ensure that talented students belonging to poor families don’t lose their chances of quality education due to a lack of money.

The CM praised 29 students who have cracked the JEE advance exam under the Super-100 Programme. He said that these students have achieved their dreams and are great examples for the upcoming generation of aspirants. This shows that talented students could never be stopped from pursuing their dreams.
