CH Muhammaedkoya Scholarship – Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria designed to support students from minority communities who require financial assistance.
- The scholarship is open to girl students belonging to the Muslim, Latin Catholic, or converted Christian communities. In some cases, students from other minority communities such as Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Parsi may also be considered.
- Applicants must be native and permanent residents of Kerala.
- The scholarship is available to first-year students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, or professional courses in government, aided, or recognized unaided institutions.
- Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination. This includes Class 12 for undergraduate courses and a bachelor’s degree for postgraduate courses.
- The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed ₹8 lakh.
- Applicants should not be availing any other scholarship or stipend for the same course, except for lump-sum grants or merit-based financial assistance. For those applying for the hostel stipend, the student must not be residing in a college-managed hostel.
- The course pursued must be offered by a recognized institution, and for professional courses, preference is given to students admitted under merit seats.
Note – Students belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families or those with higher academic merit may be given priority during the selection process.

Eligible students can apply for the C H Muhammedkoya Scholarship (CHMS) Kerala by following the below steps –
Step 1 – Visit the official website of the Directorate of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala.
Step 2 – Navigate to the ‘Register/Login’ button at the right hand side of the dashboard. Click on the ‘Student Registration’ option from the drop-down menu.
Step 3 – Fill in the required details to complete the CH Muhammedkoya Scholarship registration.

The CH Muhammedkoya Scholarship provides substantial financial assistance to help ease the burden of educational expenses. The scholarship amount varies based on the level of study and accommodation requirements:
