CBSE 12th Results 2025: JNVs, KVs Record Almost 100% Pass Percentage; 12% Could not Make it from Independent Schools

New Delhi, May 19: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) recorded a remarkable pass percentage of 99.29, followed by Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) that registered a phenomenal 99.05% success rate in the CBSE Class 12 results 2025. However, independent schools reported a pass percentage of 87.94%, which means nearly 12% of their students could not clear the CBSE Class 12 examination. Despite their better infrastructure and resources, experts cite inconsistent teaching quality, inadequate exam preparedness, and an over-reliance on external coaching as key reasons for this underperformance.

Centrally-Run Schools Continue to Lead

Over the past four academic years, centrally-run schools have consistently outperformed other categories in CBSE Class 12 results. A detailed analysis of pass percentages reveals a pattern of steady growth and academic stability in these schools.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) have shown consistent improvement in performance over the years, rising from 97.51% in 2023 to 98.90% in 2024 and further to 99.29% in 2025—nearly reclaiming their levels of excellence. Similarly, Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) demonstrated a strong recovery. After dipping to 92.51% in 2023, their pass percentage surged to 98.81% in 2024 and climbed further to 99.05% in 2025.

Schools under the Central Tibetan Schools Administration (CTSA/STSS) have also maintained high levels of academic achievement. Although there was a slight decline from 99.23% in 2024 to 98.96% in 2025, the pass rate remains significantly above the 2023 level of 96.77%, indicating overall stability and academic strength.

Government and Government Aided institutions have shown a steady upward trend in pass percentages. Government schools improved from 88.23% in 2024 to 90.48% in 2025, while Government Aided schools rose consistently from 87.17% in 2023 to 91.42% in 2024 and further to 91.57% in 2025 – reflecting continuous academic progress across these sectors.
