? World Emoji Day: Can you identify these emojis for education? ?

17th of July is celebrated worldwide as the ‘World Emoji Day‘ or ‘Global Celebration of the Emoji’. We all know emojis, we live with them, use them as an extension of our feelings, our ideas, our concepts. We use them to express ourselves. We use them when we run out of words. Emojis are a global language, accepted, understood, and revered across the world. Indeed, a day only to celebrate these wonderful pixel creations deserves a special mention. While the internet is filled with emojis, in this post, we bring to you a set of exclusive ‘Education Emojis’. We love talking about scholarships and our love for emojis that represent education grows every day.

History of emojis

Emoji stands for the Japanese word combination for ‘picture’ — e — and ‘character’ — moji together forming the word emoji. Emojis were first created by Shigetaka Kurita in the year 1999 in Japan. While working for NTT Docomo on a mobile internet platform, Kurita created a set of 175 12-pixel by 12-pixel emojis for use in messaging. These 175 character cum pictures have now evolved and are used by leading platforms like Apple, Google as a part of their keyboards. Dedicated keyboards for emojis have also developed.
