New Delhi, 24 December 2021 – Lotus Petal Foundation, a Gurugram based NGO, is inviting applications for the second Winnie Sun Scholarship 2022 across India. The scholarship opportunity is offered to meritorious female students from financially challenged backgrounds. The girl students who are above 18 years of age and aspire to acquire higher education in Engineering, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy can apply for this financial aid.
The State Education Department and District Education Officer, Gurgaon are supporting this scholarship, which aims to financially support top 100 girl students who are currently studying in, or who have completed their, Class 12 education. The application portal has opened on 22nd December 2021 and the application process will end on 31st January 2022.
Winnie Sun Scholarship 2022 – Details
Similar to the first Winnie Sun Scholarship, Lotus Petal Foundation has taken the initiative to help female students financially to pursue higher education.
- Under the scholarship scheme, the selected students will get up to INR 65,000 per year for the duration of the academic course.
- The scholarship amount encompasses fees, living costs, travel expenses, etc., which will be provided to students who have secured their admission or are already admitted to any Government or Private college for Medical (MBBS/BDS), Engineering, Nursing and Pharmacy courses.
Note: The institutes must be recognized by the Central or the State Board.
Winnie Sun Scholarship 2022 – Eligibility Criteria
There are a few specific eligibility criteria that applicants must go through before applying for this scholarship to avoid cancellation of their applications.
- The applicant must be a girl child
- She should be a permanent resident of India
- The combined family income of the applicant should be less than INR 5 lakh per year from all sources
- The applicant should have completed Class 10 and 12 with a minimum of 70% marks
- She must have appeared in Class 12 exam from any recognized state board or central board*
- In case the applicant belongs from the reserved category (SC, ST, OBC), she must have passed Class 10 and 12 with a minimum of 60% marks
- Students studying in their 1st year or 2nd year can also apply for the scholarship
*Note: At the time of final selection, the candidate will have to submit their grade 12th marks sheet with a minimum of 70% marks.
