West Bengal Talent Support Stipend Programme is the initiative by the West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation, Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education Department, Government of West Bengal. It aims at extending support to students hailing from the minority communities and pursuing their studies in Class 11 to PhD level within the State of West Bengal. The scheme helps students continue pursuing their higher education without financial barriers.

West Bengal has a vast minority population, and majority of the students belong to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). Through the ‘Talent Support Stipend Programme’ the government extends support by making higher education easier and accessible. 

West Bengal Talent Support Stipend is awarded to minority community students, who have passed Class 10 and achieved less than 50% marks in their last qualifying examination. These students must be pursuing their studies from Class 11 onwards to PhD level in a government, non-government, or private school/college/university.

West Bengal Talent Support Stipend Programme 2025 – Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for the Post-Matric Talent Support Stipend 2025 programme, applicants must fulfil the following eligibility conditions. It must be pointed out that the stipend is awarded to minority students who have passed their last final examination with less than 50% marks and have continued pursuing their studies in govt./non-govt. school/college/university from Class XI onwards up to PhD level.

  • Applicants must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
  • Students must belong to the minority community viz. Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, or Parsi.
  • Applicants having scored less than 50% in the last qualifying examination and continued pursuing higher studies in Class XI are eligible for TSP, similarly, minimum marks required in the last examination is 60% for Higher Secondary to Graduation level, 53% for Postgraduation level & Honours subject at Graduation level and 55% for Graduation level in case of engineering students.
  • The annual family income should not exceed ₹2,00,000.
  • Students must be enrolled in Class 11 to PhD level in a recognised institution in West Bengal.
