UP students to get scholarship money from Jan 26, UP CM Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow, January 15, 2021: Students of Uttar Pradesh will start getting scholarship money from January 26 this year. The inauguration of scholarship disbursement process will be done by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

As per the Social Welfare Department of Government of Uttar Pradesh, the disbursement process is cleared and the amount of scholarship and fee reimbursement for UP post-matric scholarships for SC/ST/General categories will begin on Republic day.

These scholarships aim to support the studies of underprivileged students of Uttar Pradesh after Class 10.

Assistant Director of the Social Welfare Department, Siddharth Mishra said that scholarship amount and fee reimbursement will directly reach to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The scholarship disbursement will be done for the students whose applications have been received by November 05, 2020 and were verified after the scrutiny.

The key scholarships for which the disbursement will be made include –

Post matric Intermediate Scholarship For ST/SC/General Category, Uttar Pradesh – Open for SC/ST/General students of Class 11 and 12.
Post matric (Other than Intermediate) Scholarship for ST, SC, General Category, Uttar Pradesh – Open for SC/ST/General students studying in Graduation and above.
Post matric Other State Scholarship for ST, SC, General Category, Uttar Pradesh – Open for students of Class 11 and above who are studying at an institution outside the state.

The official inauguration of the scholarship disbursement will be done by the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on January 24, 2021. On the inauguration of ‘Uttar Pradesh Day’ at Awadh Shilpgram in Gomtinagar Extension, Lucknow, he will be offering the scholarship and fee reimbursement cheques as a symbol to three students.

Also, the Chief Minister will announce a new scheme for economically backward students who wish to prepare for competitive examinations like IAS and PCS. Under this scheme, the government plans to offer free coaching to deserving students. The Education Department and the Social Welfare Department of Government of Uttar Pradesh are together preparing an action plan for successful implementation of this scheme.
