It is every studentтАЩs dream to pursuing higher studies in IITs as these are the topmost autonomous public institutes of Engineering and Management in India. Getting admission there is not that easy as there is a tough competition among students to get in there. Before starting to prepare for the entrance exams, it is important for students to have confidence in themselves as it helps them crack this tough exam.
One of the major misconceptions among students is that they think it is important to take coaching for IIT but the official data suggests that more than half of the entrance exam qualified students had prepared without any coaching support.
Well, to get admission, one must have to clear an entrance exam. There are many other ways to get into IITs for other courses such as M.Sc., M.Tech., MA in Humanities, Ph.D. etc. Apart from JEE Mains and JEE Advanced, students also need to know about other entrance exams to get into IITs.
IIT JAM (Joint Admission test for Masters)
If you are a B.Sc. student and want to try one more chance to get into IITs without taking JEE, then IIT JAM can be another option for you. The entrance exam is conducted for admission into IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee and other IITs to pursue MSc (Four Semesters), Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-MTech, MSc-PhD Dual Degree and other courses. It is conducted every year in the month of February. Both national and international students are eligible to apply for IIT JAM Exam.

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering)
If you have a B.Tech degree from a private college and still craving to get better opportunities in the technical field, then getting admission in IIT for MTech is a better option for you. The GATE is an all India entrance examination conducted every year in the month of February for admission into IITs and other technical colleges to pursue post-graduate programs. There is no age limit to appear in GATE exam.
UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design)
Not only engineering but also design courses are also offered by the IIT. So, the candidate who wants to study in IIT and pursue an undergraduate design course, then he/she may appear for the UCEED exam. The UCEED is another entrance exam conducted by IIT for candidates to get admission into IITs without clearing JEE. It is conducted by the IIT Bombay for candidates who want to pursue their B. Des.
Every year in the month of February, the exam is conducted and candidates from all around the world who have completed their schooling are eligible to apply for this entrance exam.
CEED (Common Entrance Exam for Design)
The CEED can be a great option for you, if you are one of those creative and artistic students, who wants to take up designing courses. To pursue Master of Design (M. Des) programmes, students have to crack an entrance exam to get admission into IITs and IISc Bangalore. The entrance exam tests candidatesтАЩ aptitude for design involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, and creativity and communication skills. This entrance exam is conducted every year in the month of January.
