While a majority of scholarship opportunities in the country are for citizens, there are a few opportunities for deserving international students

- Singapore International Graduate Award
The Singapore International Graduate Award, or SINGA, is an excellent Singapore scholarship for Indian postgraduates who are looking to pursue doctoral level studies. The award is given under a collaboration between four of Singapore’s best research facilities, the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Graduates with a passion for research and excellent academic results are encouraged to apply for SINGA and receive a PhD Scholarship to study in Singapore. The selected scholars receive full tuition fee support for 4 years of PhD studies, as well as a handsome monthly stipend of SGD 2000-2500, along with one-time grants for airfare (SGD 1500) and settling-in allowance (SGD 1000).
- Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award
Another scholarship offered by A*Star, or the Agency for Science, Technology & Research is the Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award, or SIPGA. This Singapore Scholarship is offered to top international students currently pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degrees, and facilitates short-term research visits for the selected scholars at A*Star, Singapore. The candidates should be applying for research in Biomedical, Science and Engineering related disciplines, and must either be in the third or fourth year of their undergraduate studies, or completed their post-graduation. The research period should be a minimum of 2-months and a maximum of 6-months. Selected scholars will receive SGD 1500 as a monthly stipend for the duration of their research experience.
- SIA Youth Scholarship
This Singapore Scholarship is an excellent opportunity for school students from India who pass their Class X. Meritorious Indian students who score at least 85% or Grade A in their Class X boards, with English as their first language, as well as maintain an excellent academic record, get a chance to study at select Singapore Junior Colleges for their pre-university 2-year studies. The scholarship, offered by the Ministry of Education, Singapore, leads to the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE ‘A’-Level), or equivalent for the student. The award for the scholarship covers the entire school fees, exam fees, medical benefits and accident insurance cover, and return airfare. In addition, the scholar receives an annual stipend, hostel accommodation, and a settling-in allowance.
- GIIS Singapore Global Citizen Scholarship
Another Singapore Scholarship for class X passed students from India is the GIIS Singapore Global Citizen Scholarship. Bright Indian students who are studying in class X are given an opportunity to pursue the rest of their schooling in Singapore at the Global Indian International School which organizes the scholarship. The scholarship provides financial assistance up to SGD 90,000 to the selected scholars.
- INSEAD Syngenta Endowed Scholarship(s) for Emerging Country Leadership
One of the most prestigious business schools in the world, with the highest ROI for its MBA program in terms of salaries for its graduates, INSEAD Business School has its campus in Singapore. In association with Syngenta, a world-leading agribusiness based in Switzerland, the school offers scholarships for its MBA program to nationals of emerging economies living and working in the developing world. Two Singapore Scholarships are awarded each year under the program to candidates demonstrating outstanding academic achievement and promise, aptitude for business and financial management, leadership potential, and a commitment to contributing to their country or region at some point in the future. The scholarship carries an award up to SGD 22500.
- Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship (National University of Singapore)
One of Singapore’s top ranked universities, ranking among the top 15 universities in the world, is the National University of Singapore. The University provides a scholarship exclusively for international students from Asia to which Indian students can apply. The Singapore Scholarship called Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship is open to Indian students applying for a full-time undergraduate degree program in Computing, Engineering or Science (excluding Pharmacy) at the National University of Singapore. The scholarship carries many benefits and covers the entire tuition fees for the duration of the course, along with airfare and accommodation. Additionally, scholars receive an annual living allowance of SGD 6000, and a one-time settling-in allowance of SGD 200.
- Goh Keng Swee Scholarship
This Singapore scholarship is a private sector scholarship administered by the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS). Named after the former Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, each year 3 to 4
Singapore scholarships are awarded under the program to outstanding individuals from 15 countries from the Asia-Pacific, including India. The scholarships facilitate international students to pursue undergraduate studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU) or the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Most courses are considered under the award, except for specialised courses like Medicine. The scholarship award covers the entire tuition and other compulsory fees, return airfare, hostel allowance, one-time settling-in allowance (SGD 200), and an annual maintenance allowance (SGD 6500).
- Amity Global Institute Merit Scholarship
Amity is one of the most reputed group of private educational institutions in India, and with their overseas campuses in Dubai and Singapore, have a global presence as well. Amity Global Institute in Singapore, part of the globally recognized Amity Education Group, offers Industry Oriented Management Programmes designed by leading academicians and corporate world members. In collaboration with various high ranked universities such as University of London (Queen Mary), University of Stirling, and University of Northampton (Singapore), Amity Global Institute offers a merit scholarship exclusively for Indian students. The scholarships are offered for both its undergraduate and post-graduate programs, and gives a chance to selected scholars to receive a tuition fee waiver of up to 35%.
- President’s Graduate Fellowship (NUS)
Another scholarship offered at the National University of Singapore, the President’s Graduate Fellowship is open to PhD applicants from all across the world. The fellowship is offered for one-year to begin with, and depending upon the satisfactory progress of the applicant, can be renewed thereafter on a semester basis. For international students, the fellowship covers the tuition fees for the course, a one-off travel allowance of SGD 750, a one-off settling-in allowance of SGD 1000, and a monthly stipend of SGD 3000.
- Singapore Millennium Foundation (SMF) Research Grant Programme
Set up in 2001, the SMF Research Grant Programme has been promoting research through the award of Singapore scholarships for postgraduate research, tenable at NUS, NTU and other Research Institutes in Singapore. More than 200 postgraduate research scholarships have been awarded under the program to support clinician scientists in their research endeavours. The program is open for applications from every November and the grant call closes end of January in the following year. Indian PhD holders who are looking for funding for their research projects in the areas of Learning & Pedagogy, Palliative Care, and Food Supply Resiliency & Bio-Mimetics can apply for the program to carry out their research in Singapore.
