Christian Medical College, Vellore

Established in 1900, the Christian Medical College and Hospital in Vellore has brought many noteworthy achievements to the country, including starting the first College of Nursing in 1946. A college of national significance, the CMS has given finest nurses to the nation with its Bachelor’s programme in Nursing. The college offers over 175 different post graduate courses in the medical, nursing and allied health disciplines, including PhD courses.

The college offers under-graduate and post-graduate programmes to nursing students under the affiliation of Pune University and is recognized by Indian Nursing Council and Maharashtra Nursing Council. King George’s Medical University, Lucknow

The university began its school of nursing in the year 1977.
