Telangana e-Pass Scholarship

The registration deadline for post-matric scholarships (fresh and renewal) for students and colleges on the Telangana e-Pass website was extended up to 31 March 2022. Students belonging to SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribe), Backward Class (BC), Economically Backward Class (EBC), and Minorities, as well as students who are physically challenged, can register for the post-matric scholarships offered by Telangana Government by visiting the official Telangana e-pass website. 

As per the official data, 5,86,011 students have registered for renewal so far, as against 7,97,656 eligible students. At the same time, a total of 2,29,246 fresh students have registered this year, as against 5,50,000 students last year.

What are the Eligibility Criteria to apply for Telangana e-Pass Scholarships?

STUDENTS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY STUDENTS NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY
  • SC & ST welfare students whose annual family income is Rs. 2 lakhs or below.
  • BC, EBC and Minority welfare students, belonging to rural areas, whose family income is Rs. 1,50,000 or below.
  • BC, EBC and Minority welfare students, belonging to urban areas, whose family income is Rs. 2 lakh or below.
  • Disabled welfare students whose parental income is Rs. 1 lakh or below.
  • EBC students who are selected under Corporate College Admissions Scheme are eligible for Intermediate courses.
  • Students whose attendance is 75% at the end of each quarter & those promoted to next academic year for renewal.
  • Students belonging to categories other than SC, ST, BC, EBC, Minority and DW(Disabled).
  • SC, ST students whose annual family income is more than Rs. 2 lakhs.
  • BC, EBC and Minority rural area students whose annual family income is more than Rs. 1,50,000.
  • BC, EBC and Minority urban area students whose annual family income is more than Rs. 2 Lakhs.
  • Disabled welfare students whose family income is more than Rs. 1 lakh.
  • All students who are pursuing part time, online, and correspondence courses.
  • Students admitted under sponsored seats, management quota seats and sot Admissions.
  • Students who applied Stipend/Scholarship in any scheme.
  • Students of BC, EBC and DW students studying the courses offered by open universities, distant mode, category B seats in MBBS, BDS.
  • EBC students studying Intermediate or courses.
  • Students pursuing same level of courses.

About Telangana e-Pass Scholarships

  • Under Telangana Payment & Application System of Scholarships, the state government sanctions post-matric scholarships, benefitting around 13 to 14 lakh students per year of SC, ST, EBS, BC, Minorities, and physically challenged categories. 
  • The scholarship scheme enables students belonging to the weaker sections of society to avail access to higher education including professional courses like engineering, medicine, pharmacy, management, computers etc. 
  • The Telangana e-Pass Scholarship scheme applies to all universities and its affiliated colleges whose admission process is regulated or administered by the state government. 
  • In order to ensure transparency and accountability, the sanction and disbursement of Post Matric Scholarships is being implemented through an online system (E-PASS PORTAL) in all the welfare departments under Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) mode with Aadhar linkage.
