The scholarship awards have been divided into two major categories with 300 seats reserved for students who are willing to study abroad in the world’s top 150 universities and the remaining 200 for studying in the country’s top 50 institutes.
In a notification released by the Rajasthan Government on March 11, 2024 the students who have secured admission in the listed universities/institutes, scholarship will be awarded on the basis of three income criteria. They are as under:
- E1 for families with an annual income of up to ₹8 lakh
- E2 for families with incomes between ₹8 and ₹25 lakh
- E3 for families with incomes above ₹25 lakh.
It has been additionally mentioned in the notification that the priority will be given to students from El category. In the case of seats remaining vacant under the E1 category, they will be redistributed to E2 and E3 categories. The rules also point out that a total of 30% of seats shall be reserved for girls only in the E1 and E2 categories. This implies that 150 seats shall be designated for girls. Swami Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence (SVSAE) is offering an opportunity to students planning to pursue undergraduation (UG), postgraduation (PG), PhD, and post-doctoral research programmes abroad. The SVSAE scheme offers scholarship support for pursuing higher studies in any subject/course at a top-ranked institution/university. It consists of the world’s top 150 universities as per the latest QS World Rankings and India’s top 50 institutes ranked in the NIRF listings. The selected applicants will get full tuition fees, bench fees (if applicable), and a stipend for living expenses.
Swami Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence Scheme 2024 – Eligibility Criteria
The applicants must carefully review the official scholarship notification and the released official documents for detailed eligibility criteria. Specific eligibility criteria as applicable are mentioned below:
- The candidate must be a citizen of India and a domiciled resident in the State of Rajasthan.
- The age of the applicant must be less than 35 years of age as on 1st July of every academic year.
- Interested students must be enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD or postdoctoral degree programmes. They must have received an admission letter/confirmation letter/offer letter from any of the universities or institutions listed in the latest QS Global Rankings or ranked within the top 1-50 institutions by NIRF.
- The annual family income must be less than ₹8,00,000 (*E1 Category), between ₹8,00,000 and ₹25,00,000 (E2 Category) and more than ₹25,00,000 (E3 Category).
*E1, E2, and E3 categories indicate income brackets that determine the level of financial assistance awarded.
Note:- Applicants for the scholarship programme selected provisionally are required to submit their unconditional offer letters or admission letters within two months of their provisional selection. Scholarship eligibility criteria remains unaffected by financial aspects within the offer letter, including fee payment requirements, additional charges, or proof of funding.
