Admission checklist to follow

In general, two admission cycles operate at the universities in UAE to enter a graduate or postgraduate level degree course namely – fall and spring. If you wish to get an admission in the spring cycle, you need to apply before the month of October (previous year). However, the students willing to apply for the fall admission cycle need to apply before the month of April/May (same year). Besides this, in order to get admission to a university at UAE, you need to fulfil the following admission checklist –

  1. Basic admission eligibility criteria of the university
  2. Proficiency in Arabic and English language
  3. Valid score of IELTS/TOEFL (for non-native English speakers)
  4. Valid passport
  5. Availability of sufficient funds for studying and living in UAE

Fulfilling the documents requirement

Once you have decided on your choice of college, you may begin your admission application process. However, prior to that, you need to keep all essential documents intact at one place such as –

  1. Completed admission application form
  2. A valid passport
  3. Academic references
  4. Proof of proficiency in English (valid score of IELTS/TOEFL)
  5. Transcripts and certificates of recent academic qualification

Cost of study in UAE and meeting out the expenses

Having a booming economy, the country is comparatively expensive in terms of both education and living than USA or UK. On an average, the fees of the courses may vary from AED 48,000 to AED 120,000. This should not be a demotivating factor for the students as the country also offers a vast scope in terms of earning for students. Yes, UAE offers a provision for international students to work and study simultaneously during their study programme. This may help the students to arrange the hefty fees of the course they are studying.

Getting the student visa ready

Another most important component that is required for students to continue their education in UAE is a student visa. Generally, two types of student visas are available – short-term and long-term. The short-term student visas are applicable for students pursuing short-term courses with duration less than 12 months. However, the long-term student visa is applicable for graduate and postgraduate level courses whose duration is more than 12 months.
