The online portal also acts as a welfare service provider for these traditionally marginalized communities through a wide range of schemes including entrepreneurship grants, healthcare services, and skill development programs. By replacing the conventional application system with an automated, transparent, and time-bound digital process, SIRISH has removed barriers that used to block access to government welfare programs.
The platform is administered by the Director of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare. It serves a population of close to seven million, almost 20% of the total population of Assam. These communities have been severely underserved with regard to educational and welfare opportunities.
