Scholarships for Agriculture Students – Key Eligibility

  • The fellowship is open for students having a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Agriculture, Business Administration or Social Work.
  • The age of the candidates should be between 20 years and 30 years.
  • They must have a mandatory knowledge of Telugu and Hindi or English as the secondary language.
  • They must be willing to work with the farmers of rural Andhra Pradesh.
  • They must demonstrate a strong academic or extra-curricular performance in the last engagement.
2. SAARC Agricultural PhD Scholarships SAARC member countries*
  • The scholarships are open for candidates who are regular employees of National Agricultural Research, Education and Extension System from SAARC member countries (except Bangladesh and Afghanistan).
  • They must hold a master’s degree in agricultural sciences/agricultural biotechnology/cytogenetics/plant breeding from a recognised University/institution.
  • The age of the applicant should be below 40 years at the time of application.
  • They must show interest in pursuing a PhD programme in Agricultural Biotechnology.
  • The candidates are also expected to have an excellent academic record and a good command over written and spoken English.
3. University of Edinburgh International Scholarship for Agricultural Science UK
  • The students applying to any of the following programmes offered by the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Security can apply for the scholarship –
    • B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agricultural Economics
    • B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agricultural Science – Animal Science
    • B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agricultural Science – Crop & Soil Science
    • B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agricultural Science – Global Agriculture & Food Security
  • They must have firmly accepted an offer of admission.
  • They must also be classified as overseas national.
4. Netaji Subhas-ICAR International Fellowships India or Overseas
  • The fellowship is open for both Indian and Overseas students.
  • They must have an MA degree in Agriculture and allied sciences with an overall 65% GPA.
  • The age of the candidates should be less than 35 years at the time of the last date of application.
  • The candidates who are working with ICAR-AU system are eligible till 40 years of age.
5. Profugo Field Fellowship Global The candidates having the following qualities can apply for this fellowship –
  • Background of agriculture, engineering, business/education
  • Entrepreneurial skills
  • Team player
  • Open-minded and flexible
  • Willingness to take an initiative
  • Experience in cross-culture
  • Knowledge and passion for business development, social entrepreneurship, women empowerment, farming, sustainable engineering, agriculture, education, teaching or natural resource management.
6. UAS Bangalore Sharans Vedanth Scholarship Karnataka
  • The scholarship is open only for those students who have taken admission in the first year of B.Sc. (Agriculture) at UAS, Bengaluru.
  • The students must be resident of the rural area and must have studied from Kannada medium.
  • The family members of the candidate should be practising farmers.
  • The annual income of the family should be less than INR 1 Lakh.
  • They must have completed their education in class 1 to 10 from a rural area.
7. Shri. R.N. Lakshmipathi and Smt. Nagarathnamma, Gauribidanur Merit Scholarship, Karnataka Karnataka
  • Only female candidates of Chickballapur district can apply for this scholarship.
  • They must be enrolled in the first year of B.Sc. (Agri.) or B.Sc. (Agri. Biotech).
  • The minimum CGPA requirement in the first year is 7.50.
  • The annual income of the family should be less than INR 1 Lakh.
  • The applicants must have a poor background and must be studying in Kannada medium.
8. Smt. Swarnamba. T.K. Gurusiddapa Scholarship Karnataka
  • This scholarship is open for students who are in the first year of B.Sc. in Agriculture.
  • The annual income of the family should be less than INR 1 Lakh.
9. Late Sri. A. Gopal Endowment Scholarship, Karnataka Karnataka
  • This scholarship is open for meritorious students who belong to the rural farming community.
  • They must be studying in the first year of the undergraduate programme at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru.
  • They must have studied class 1 to 10 in the rural area.
  • The annual income of the family should be less than INR 1 Lakh.

Scholarships for Agriculture Students – Application Process

  • The scholarship is valued out of the interest and on the sum of INR 1.6 Lakh which will be equally divided for 12 months.

  • INR 875 per month which will be disbursed from the interest accrued on the sum of INR 125,000.
