PMS Sikkim or Post Matric Scholarship Sikkim is one of the most appreciable approaches of the Sikkim government. The Human Resource Development Department undertakes the implementation of different scholarship schemes for the applicants. State Government offered Post Matric Scholarships
The Post Matric Scholarships are offered to all the local students under merit and general category. According to this, the scholarships are segregated into two categories – Merit Scholarship and General Scholarship.
PMS Sikkim – Merit Scholarship
- This scholarship is offered to students who have passed Class 12 in one attempt securing 80% in their board examinations.
- The scholarship amount ranges between INR 1600 and INR 2000 per month.
- It also provides an annual reimbursement of a maximum of INR 10,000 to selected students.
Note – The percentage is calculated from the scores of English and three main subjects of students.
PMS Sikkim – General Scholarship
- General scholarships are provided to all the local students of Sikkim.
- Local students securing less than 80% and more than 60% in their specified honours subjects in graduation are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
- Selected courses that are notified by the department will be granted scholarships.
- Combined monthly income of parents should be less than INR 10,000 to be eligible for this scholarship.
PMS Sikkim – Diploma Scholarship
- INR 800 is offered every month to candidates under the Merit category and the General category.
- Candidates who have scored 80% under the merit category and 60% under the general category are eligible to receive the scholarship.
- Combined income of parents needs to be less than INR 10,000 monthly to be eligible for applying.
PMS Sikkim – Fellowship Grant for M.Phil and Ph.D Scholars
- Candidates pursuing PhD courses can receive an award of INR 6,000 every month.
- Regular candidates pursuing PhD in subjects related to the State of Sikkim are eligible to receive a contingency grant of INR 15,000 per annum for a maximum period of three years.
- In-service candidates are eligible for INR 3,000 per month with a reimbursement plan of INR 12,000 per year.
