Panjab University Admission 2026 Application Process
Step 1 – Visit the Panjab University admission portal: https://ugadmissions.puchd.ac.in for UG courses, https://onlineadmissions.puchd.ac.in for PG courses.
Step 2 – Register using a valid email ID and mobile number. Note the login credentials sent to your registered email and mobile number.
Step 3 – Fill in the online Admission Form with accurate personal, academic, and category details. Select course preferences in order of priority.
Step 4 – Upload all required documents including photograph, signature, marksheets, and category certificates.
Step 5 – Pay the application fee online via credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI.
Step 6 – Review all details carefully before final submission. No changes are permitted after the form is locked and saved.
Step 7 – Download and save a printed copy of the submitted form for future reference.
Step 8 – Check the Merit List on the respective portal. Attend Physical Counselling with all original documents on the scheduled date.
Step 9 – Pay the admission fee on the spot at counselling via Bank Draft. Report to the allotted department and complete joining formalities.

Panjab University Admission 2026 – FAQs
Is CUET compulsory for Panjab University admission?
No. Panjab University admission does not require a CUET. PU conducts its own tests, PUCET UG, PUCET PG, PU-MET, PU-UGLAW, PU-PGLAW, PULEET or accepts JEE Main, CAT, GATE, and NCET (depending on the programme) for admission.
How can candidates apply for Panjab University admission?
Applications are accepted only in online mode through the official website, puchd.ac.in. Candidates must register, fill the admission form, upload documents in the specified dimensions, pay the fee online and retain a printout for future reference.
Can students get direct admission to Panjab University without an entrance exam?
Admission to most courses requires qualifying the relevant university entrance test. However, certain programmes such as BA, MA and MLibSc offer merit-based admission on the last qualifying examination, without any entrance requirement.
Can students from reserved categories get fee benefits at Panjab University?
Yes. SC/ST students from Punjab get tuition and non-refundable fee exemption (income-based); PwD candidates get 5% mark and 5-year age relaxation; Kargil War Martyrs’ wards get full fee and hostel exemption.
What are the NRI and Foreign National admission provisions at Panjab University?
NRI/Wards of NRI get 10% seats above sanctioned strength; Foreign Nationals get 25% supernumerary seats. Entrance test is waived for 2026-27 for these categories; all must register on the Study in India (SII) portal.
