ONGC Sport Scholarship Scheme 2026- Eligibility Criteria

Who is Not Eligible for ONGC Sports Scholarship?

Players who are employed or earning money by playing in professional leagues.
Players who are receiving scholarship/stipend from organizations like SAI, Khelo India, other government bodies, or private trusts.
Senior players who have received cash rewards from the government for winning medals in international events like Olympics, Asian Games etc.

Players selected for the ONGC Sports scholarship scheme are offered a scholarship amount depending on their age category and performance. The scholarship amount for the sub-junior category is comparatively less than that of the senior category.

Scholarship Amounts for Individual Ranking Sports

Scholarship shall be awarded for one year, extendable up to three years based on annual performance, on a yearly basis.
Except for the Olympic, Asian, and Commonwealth Games, all events must be recognized by the International Sports Federation and the National Sports Federation (NSF).
For individual ranking sports (Badminton, Squash, Table Tennis, Tennis, Golf, and Chess), a sportsperson who has neither participated in a National Championship nor represented India internationally through the NSF, but fulfills prescribed ranking criteria, is eligible for scholarship benefits.
Sportspersons will be given the opportunity to represent ONGC in domestic tournaments; they shall be paid TA/DA (travel allowance/daily allowance) and necessary expenditure for participation.
Sportspersons representing ONGC shall be provided playing kits.
ONGC will provide individual health/accident insurance of ₹5,00,000 to the players to cover illness/injury expenses, or allow the players to obtain self-insurance for which a premium up to ₹7,000/- per annum will be reimbursed to them.
