Samaj Kalyan Scholarship 2020 – UP, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship, offered by Social Welfare Departments of several states, caters to the needs of students pursuing education at pre-matric and post-matric levels. Under the scheme of Samaj Kalyan scholarship, the needy and deserving candidates get financial support so that they can complete their education without being held back due to financial constraints. The states of Uttar Pradesh (UP), Rajasthan and Uttarakhand disburse scholarships to students of different categories studying at different levels of education.

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship – UP

The Social Welfare Department of the Government of Uttar Pradesh provides Samaj Kalyan Scholarship at pre-matric and post-matric levels to those students who belong to the underprivileged section of the society and wish to continue their education. Samaj Kalyan Scholarship of UP – Application Process

In order to ease the application process for students, the Uttar Pradesh Government allows students to apply online for the Samaj Kalyan scholarship through its Scholarship & Fee Reimbursement Online System named as Saksham. The students can apply for the scholarship they are eligible for through this online system within the stipulated time limit.

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship – Rajasthan

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship offered by the Social Justice & Empowerment Department of Rajasthan Government provides financial support to the deprived students of the state. Through this department, all the needy and deserving students studying at various educational levels are provided funding so that they could continue their education. 3. Dr Ambedkar Post-matric Scholarship for EBC Students, Rajasthan Maintenance allowance December to January Applicable for students belonging to the EBC category and having domicile of Rajasthan

Must be continuing their studies from class 11 to postgraduation

4. Dr Ambedkar Post-matric Scholarship for DNTs, Rajasthan Maintenance allowance NA Applicable to students belonging to Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNTs) and having domicile of Rajasthan

Annual family income not more than INR 2 Lakh

Must be enrolled in government/recognised educational institution

Must be continuing education at post-matric level, i.e., class 11 to postgraduation

5. Mukhya Mantri Sarvjan Uchha Shiksha Chhatravriti Yojna, Rajasthan 50% of the total non-refundable fees NA Applicable to students having the domicile of Rajasthan

Must be pursuing courses in top-level national institutions as regular students

Annual family income not more than INR 5 Lakh

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship of Rajasthan – Application Process

To make the application process easy and simple for aspiring candidates, the Social Justice & Empowerment Department of Rajasthan allows students to apply online for the scholarship through the Rajasthan Online Scholarship System (ROSE). The portal provides all the required information that a student needs to apply for the scholarship of his/her choice.

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship – Uttarakhand

Run by the Social Welfare Department of Uttarakhand Government, the Samaj Kalyan scholarship enables disadvantaged students to pursue education without worrying about financial hurdles. Candidates belonging to different categories can avail the scholarship benefits under Samaj Kalyan scholarship scheme. 3. Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC/ST Students (State/Center Sector), Uttarakhand INR 600 per annum for students of class 1 to 5

INR 720 per annum for students of class 6 to 8

INR 1,500 per annum for students of class 9 to 10 (day scholars)

INR 3,500 per annum for students of class 9 to 10 (hostellers)

October to November Applicable for students of class 1 to 10

Must belong to SC/ST category

Must have passed the last qualifying exam

Must have an annual family income less than INR 2 Lakh for students of class 9 and 10

No income limit for students of class 1 to 8

4. Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students (State and Central Sector), Uttarakhand INR 600 per annum for class 3 to 5 students

INR 720 per annum for class 6 to 8 students

INR 1,000 per annum for class 9 to 10 students

October to November Applicable for students of class 1 to 10

Must belong to OBC category

Must have passed the last qualifying exam

Annual family income must be less than INR 44,500

5. Pre-Matric Disability Scholarship (State Sector), Uttarakhand INR 600 per annum for students of class 1 to 5

INR 960 per annum for students of class 6 to 8

INR 1,700 per annum for students of class 9 to 10

October to November Applicable for students with a disability and studying class 1 to 10

Must be studying at a recognised school within or outside Uttarakhand

Must have passed the last qualifying exam

Annual family income must be less than INR 24,000

6. Post Matric Scholarship for EBC Students, Uttarakhand Maintenance allowance of up to INR 750 per month for a duration of 10 months, reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees and other benefits October to November Applicable for students pursuing studies at post-matric level (class 11 to postdoctoral level) at an institution recognised by the government

Annual family income less than INR 1 Lakh

Must belong to EBC category

Students of distance learning or correspondence are also eligible

7. Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minority (100 percent State Sector), Uttarakhand INR 50 per month for up to 12 months for class 1 to 5 students

INR 80 per month for up to 12 months for class 6 to 8 students

INR 120 per month for up to 12 months for class 9 to 10 students

October to November Students must belong to minority classes (Christianity, Muslim, Jain, Parsi, Sikh, Buddhism)

Must be studying in class 1 to 10

Must have passed the last qualifying exam

Annual family income should be less than twice of current income slab of below poverty line

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship of Uttarakhand – Application Process
