Ladakh Scholarship – Eligibility Criteria

Centrally Sponsored Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students (Class 9 and 10)
- Students must be domiciled in Ladakh.
- They must belong to the ST community.
- Students must be studying in Class 9 and 10 at recognised institutions.
- They must have an annual family income of less than ₹2,50,000.
- Applicants must not be receiving any other scholarship.
Vidyadhan Scholarship Program
- The applicant must be domiciled in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
- The applicant must have completed the Class 10 in the year 2025 from a recognised school or institute located in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
- The applicant must have scored at least 65% marks or a minimum CGPA of 6.5 in the Class 10. For students with disabilities, the minimum qualifying marks are 60% or a CGPA of 6.0.)
- The applicant’s annual family income from all sources must be less than ₹2,00,000.
Lt. Governor’s Student Support Initiative (REWA Scholarship), Ladakh
- Students who are domiciled in the Union Territory of Ladakh are eligible.
- Additionally, students studying in educational institutions within the Union Territory of Ladakh who are children of central government officials, all India service officers, officials of public sector undertakings (PSUs) and autonomous bodies of the central government, public sector banks, and officials of statutory bodies shall also be eligible to avail the benefit.
Sponsored M.Tech. Program Opportunity for Students from Ladakh
For Postgraduate Students –
1. Applicants must be permanent residents of the Union Territory of Ladakh and must meet one of the following criteria:
- Have completed a 4-year B.Tech./B.E. degree or a 2-year M.Sc. degree (after B.Sc.), or
- Be currently in the final year of any of the above-mentioned programmes.
2. Applicants are required to submit valid proof of Ladakh residence along with a current enrollment certificate or degree completion certificate, as applicable.
The suggested minimum academic requirement is 60% marks or 6.00 CGPA, with a 5% relaxation for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
3. A GATE qualification is not required for admission to this sponsored M.Tech. program. programme.
For the Ph.D. Program
1. Applicants must be permanent residents of the Union Territory of Ladakh and must submit valid proof of residence.
2. Eligible educational qualifications include any one of the following:
- A master’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 CPI, or
- A 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science with at least 75% marks or 7.5 CPI, along with a valid GATE score (GATE requirement is waived for graduates from CFTIs), or
- A master’s degree in science with a minimum of 65% marks or 6.5 CPI, first division at the undergraduate level, and a valid JRF or GATE qualification.
3. For Computer Science and related disciplines, candidates holding an MCA degree may also be considered under similar eligibility criteria.
NSP Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students
- The applicant must be an Indian national.
- The applicant must have passed Class 12 from a recognised institution with a minimum score of 80% in their chosen stream (Science, commerce, or humanities) from a recognised board following the 10+2 pattern or an equivalent system
- The applicant must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate programme in a professional field at a college or institution recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or other relevant regulatory bodies.
- The annual parental or family income of the applicant must not exceed ₹4,50,000.
