The improvement exam is scheduled to be held on June 15, 2026, and the detailed ICSE improvement exam date sheet will be released by CISCE shortly.

This year, a total of 2,957 schools for ICSE and 1,553 schools for ISC participated in the examinations across India and abroad. Nearly 2,58,721 students appeared for the ICSE exam, of which 2,56,590 qualified, recording an outstanding pass percentage of 99.18%. Students are required to log in using their Index Number, Unique ID, and Date of Birth to check their scorecards.

In terms of gender-wise performance, girls outperformed boys, with a pass percentage of 99.46%, compared to 98.93% for boys. This highlights a sustained pattern where female students demonstrate slightly stronger academic outcomes in ICSE examinations.

Approximately 2.58 lakh students appeared for the ICSE Class 10 examinations this year, with a higher participation of boys than girls. However, despite higher participation, boys recorded comparatively lower pass percentages, indicating a gap in performance outcomes.

ICSE Class 10 Result 2026 – State-wise Performance

The ICSE Class 10 results for 2026 highlight that the top-performing states – Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Maharashtra have achieved exceptionally high pass percentages, all above 99.9%, reflecting outstanding academic performance. Tamil Nadu leads marginally, closely followed by Kerala and Maharashtra, indicating a very narrow performance gap among the top states. This trend demonstrates a strong concentration of high achievement in these regions, with consistently excellent results and near-perfect pass rates among students.

Rank State Pass Percentage
1 Tamil Nadu 99.95%
2 Kerala 99.94%
3 Maharashtra 99.90%

Region-wise performance trends suggest that the western region emerged as the best-performing zone, with states like Maharashtra showing particularly strong results. This indicates regional variations in academic performance, likely influenced by institutional quality and learning environments.

An important shift has been observed in the distribution of marks, where there is an increase in the number of students scoring in the 90-95% range, while the proportion of students scoring above 95% has slightly declined. This suggests a move towards more balanced scoring patterns rather than extreme concentration at the top.

The improved results have also been linked to a gradual transition from rote learning to concept-based learning approaches, which has enhanced students’ understanding and application of knowledge.

Notably, the Council did not release any official toppers list, reinforcing its focus on holistic education and reducing unhealthy academic competition among students.

ICSE 10th Result 2026 – Previous Year Trends (For Reference)

Based on previous years’ performance, the overall pass percentage in the ICSE Class 10 examinations is expected to remain above 98%. Girls have consistently performed slightly better than boys. Additionally, a large number of students have scored above 90% in recent years, indicating a strong overall academic performance trend.

ICSE 10th Result 2026 – What Next?

After the declaration of the ICSE Class 10 results, students should take a structured approach toward their next academic step. The first and most important decision is choosing the right stream – Science, Commerce, or Humanities based on their interests, aptitude, and performance. Students should also collect their original marksheet from their respective schools once it is issued.

It is advisable to begin the admission process for Class 11 in preferred schools and streams at the earliest, as some institutions may have limited seats or cut-off criteria. At the same time, students can start exploring career options through counseling sessions or guidance programs to make informed decisions about their future. Additionally, they should carefully check the eligibility requirements for their chosen stream, as certain schools may have specific subject-wise or overall percentage criteria.
