With the objective to provide a unique experience to students interested in the social development sector, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday launched the Chief Minister Fellowship Program 2018 to rope in young graduates in the state administration.
Another objective of the Fellowship is to cultivate young leaders, strengthen their understanding of the public administration and prepare them for greater leadership roles in the future.
The Fellowship is designed to enable the students to have a meaningful participation in policy making, execution, monitoring and evaluation of programs in the state. It will also provide them opportunities to visit various knowledge institutions in the state and interact with legends of different fields in Art, Literature, Journalism, and Entertainment.
Along with providing opportunities for professional growth and learning, the Fellowship will also equip them for higher education in policy, governance, and management.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates in the age group of 21 to 26 years with a first class degree in Graduation can apply for this Fellowship.
Candidate with one-year work experience and relevant PG degree or professional diploma will have an added advantage.
Candidate with proficiency in Marathi language and ability to work on computer and Internet will be given preference.
Sufficient knowledge of English and Hindi is also required.
Terms and Conditions
The Chief Minister Fellowship Program 2018 is a full-time program and Fellows will not be able to undertake any other employment, assignments or full-time study during the period of Fellowship.
It is a one-time 11-month program with no provision of extension and does not assure job after completion of the Fellowship.
The working timings will be the same as for other employees of authority they are placed with.
The fellow may need to work extra hours and travel as per requirement of his/her assignments.
Police verification, medical fitness certificate and verification of educational documents will be done at the time of the commencement of the program.
The fellow will have to reside in his/her city during the period of Fellowship.
No accommodation will be provided to outstation fellows.
The fellow needs to join the appointed office within 60 days after receiving the offer letter, otherwise, the selection will be cancelled.
The fellow won’t be allowed to take part in any political movement during the Fellowship.
Entitlement
The position of Fellows will be equivalent to that of Grade – A officer in the government service.
They will be provided I Card and Email ID for the official purpose during the period of the fellowship.
As part of the Fellowship, they will be provided a stipend of INR 35,000 and INR 5,000 for travel and other related expenses.
They are entitled to 10 days of leave during the period of fellowship and will be provided with an accidental insurance cover during the period of the fellowship.
Certificated will be given to them after successful completion of the Fellowship.
Selection Process
Selection for the Fellowship will be done in a two-stage process. Online test and shortlisting of candidates will be done in stage one, while stage two involves shortlisted candidates submitting their essay, their personal interview and result declaration.
