Bihar Board Class 12 Result 2018 announced

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) announced the Bihar Board Class 12 Result 2018 for Arts, Science, and Commerce stream on Wednesday. Students can check their BSEB class 12 results on official website biharboard.ac.in, and www.biharboard.ac.in.

Scholarship Registration and Login

Bihar Board Chairman Anand Kishore along with State Education Minister Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma and Education Department Principal Secretary RK Mahajan declared the results.

The results were being declared a day earlier than scheduled to allow students to apply for admission to colleges in Delhi University, where the last date for submitting the application is June 7.

Kalpana Kumari has topped the Bihar board intermediate examination in Science stream with 434 marks out of 500. Moreover, she has also bagged 1st rank in NEET 2018. Kusum Kumari has topped in Arts stream with 424 marks, while Nidhi Sinha became the Commerce topper with 434 marks.

According to media reports, the top scorers of the BSEB’s Class 12 (Science, Commerce, and Arts separately) examinations would get a cash prize of INR 1 lakh along with a laptop and a kindle e-reader each. The top five scorers of each of the three streams of Class XII examinations will also get the Deshratn Dr Rajendra Prasad Medha Chhatravriti.

According to the BSEB, more than 12,07,986 students have this year appeared for the intermediate written exams held across 1,384 centres in the state. A total of 44.7% students passed in Science stream, 91.32% cleared the Commerce stream, and 61.32% qualified in Arts stream this year.

The Bihar Board Class 12 examinations were conducted by the BSEB from February 6 to 16 and practical examinations were held from January 11-25.

Career Assessment Test

In 2017, total 30.11% of 6,46,231 Class 12 students had passed the board exam and the BSEB Class 12 Science results in 2016 were 67.06%. The Bihar Board introduced several reforms after the mass-cheating scam was reported in 2017.

According to reports, the Bihar government has also announced a number of scholarships for the toppers of Class X and XII. Ten toppers of Class X will get INR 1,200 per month for two years to pursue higher secondary education. To be eligible for these scholarships, students will have to fetch at least 60 per cent marks in Class XI.

As part of the scholarship, five toppers of Class XII will receive INR 1,500 per month for pursuing higher education and will receive the scholarship depending on the duration of the course. For students who are pursuing professional courses such as MBBS and Engineering, the scholarship will continue for five years and fours years, respectively.
