Understanding the paper pattern

Before heading on to what and how students should prepare for the BITSAT examination, they need to have a clear understanding of the examination pattern. Divided into four major parts, the students are required to answer 150 objective-type questions in a total time duration of 3 hours. The four key sections of the examination include Physics, Chemistry, Logical Reasoning and English Proficiency and Mathematics or Biology.

Besides this, the candidates can also get an extra edge by attempting 12 extra questions, four from each Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics or Biology so as to increase their respective scores.

How to prepare?

Once the students are well aware of the core areas to cover for the examination, it’s time for them to act. Here are few important tips and tricks that every student can follow to stay benefited–

Stick to the plan

With a plan in hand, every student can execute his/her studies in the right direction. They can not only manage their time efficiently but also cover every aspect of the syllabus within the due time. Thus, it is advisable for every student to strictly adhere to planned approach of studies.

Refer to the right study material

With a vast variety of study material available in the market, the students may get distracted towards them. However, to prepare well as per the syllabus, the best study material to be referred is NCERT books. They contain sufficient information for students to learn and understand the concepts.

No scope for errors

With the introduction of negative marking concept, the students are left with no scope of making errors while answering the questions in the exam, as it can pull them a step down. Some questions may tempt the students to do the guesswork, but they may cost you a lot. So the best trick for the examination is to avoid the guesswork.

Take online practice tests

The more a student practices, the more he/she is able to grab the concepts. There are several online practice and mock tests available that a student can take up on a regular basis. By doing so, they will not only gain a clear concept, but also be able to judge their individual performances.

Count on quality not hours

Breakthrough the contemporary idea of spending more and more hours to study. Instead, it is advisable to pay significant attention to the quality of learning a student gets within those hours. The better quality of learning they have, the more are their chances of selection to a reputed institution.

Adhering to these study strategies, the students can surely increase their chances of selection to any of the BITS campus.
