About The Program
The Department of Backward Classes Welfare, Government of Karnataka is inviting applications for Post Matric Scholarship for Backward Classes Students, Karnataka 2021-22 from students belonging to Backward Classes and pursuing studies at the post-matriculation level. The selected scholars will receive variable awards under this scheme.
EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
To be eligible, an applicant must -
- Be a permanent resident of Karnataka
- Belong to Backward Classes notified by Government of India or State Government
- Be pursuing studies at post-matriculation or post-secondary level from a non-subsidized private institution accredited by local organization/subsidiary organization/government
- Have an annual family income less than INR 2.50 Lakh
- Have obtained at least 50% marks (for category 1) and 60% marks (for category 2A, 3A, and 3B) in the previous examination
Benefits
- Group A students will receive INR 3,500 per annum
- Group B students will receive INR 3,350 per annum
- Group C students will receive INR 2,100 per annum
- Group D students will receive INR 1,600 per annum

- Students admitted to government colleges/residential colleges are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
- If a candidate is attending more than one course of study, he/she is not eligible to apply.
- Only two sons of a family can apply for this scheme. However, there is no such restriction for female candidates.
