We got in touch with him to know more about his journey. Here are the excerpts from his interview with Buddy4Study.
Buddy4Study: Tell us briefly about your academic background and professional journey.
Arpit Daga: Currently, I am pursuing MBA in Banking and Financial Services from T.A. Pai Management Institute, Manipal. Prior to this, I was working with Tata Technologies as Senior Solution Developer for 3 years. I have done graduation in Computer Science Engineering.
Buddy4Study: What motivated you to pursue a course in management?
Arpit Daga: I have a keen interest in pursuing a career in Finance, specifically in areas related to investments. With that goal in my mind, I am pursuing an MBA course to build upon my engineering education and prior work experience in technology.
Buddy4Study: What were the key challenges faced by you during the course of your journey to reach here?
Arpit Daga: I was working when I decided to do an MBA. It was tough to manage work and prepare for exams simultaneously. But I believe such challenges make you stronger. You learn to be flexible in managing the time as well. So, I think the whole journey was a learning experience and ended on a positive note.
Buddy4Study: How has your family supported you in your venture to pursue this course?
Arpit Daga: My family is extremely supportive in every decision that I make. When I decided to pursue the course, they accepted it despite knowing the large investment required to be made. They have always encouraged me to focus on my goals and work hard to achieve them.
Buddy4Study: How did you come to know about the Capital First Scholarship? What were the steps followed to avail the scholarship?
Arpit Daga: My school informed me about the scholarship. I applied for the same by uploading the documents and filling the form on the Buddy4Study web portal. After this, there were two telephonic interviews.
Buddy4Study: What are your ambitions in the future and how do you plan to execute them?
Arpit Daga: My short term goal is to excel in my learnings in the two-year MBA programme and practice the same in the investment banking sector as an analyst. As for my long-term goal, I plan to work with a PE firm.
Buddy4Study: Any piece of advice that you would like to impart to other potential aspirants like you who are constrained by various challenges towards pursuing higher education?
Arpit Daga: If someone wants to pursue higher education and is constrained by various challenges, especially a financial challenge, then don’t stop yourself from not going for higher education. Education is the investment that is going to give higher returns in future. In this competitive world, it is very important to be well qualified and the first step towards it is to meet your goal.
