The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha (BSE) conducts the National Rural Talent Scholarship (NRTS) Exam. This year, the application process started on 7th August 2023 from 10 AM and the registration portal remained open till 19th August 2023, midnight. The examination was held on 25th September 2023.
Any Class 8th or 9th student enrolled in any Odisha government school, who has received a “No objection certificate” from his/her school, was eligible for the NTRS 2023 examination. The written test was conducted in subjects like Modern Indian Language (MIL), Mathematics, Social Sciences, and General Science. Qualified candidates will receive Rs. 250 per month for 2 years till they pass Class 9 and 10. The application fee for the NTRS examination is Rs. 60 for all categories.
Till now the result is not out for NRTS 2023 exam. However, it is expected to be released around the end of October 2023. After the result declaration, the district education officer will issue the award memo in favour of the selected students.

NTRS 2023 – Eligibility Criteria
- Students must either have passed Class 8 or have enrolled in Class 9.
- Candidates must have a “No Objection Certificate” from their schools.
- The student’s school must be recognised by the Odisha government.
- This scholarship is only available to students from schools that follow the syllabus of the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
- Additionally, only SEBC category students need to provide income proof that shows their annual income does not exceed INR 1.5 lakh.
