Himachal Govt. Scholarship Scheme – Class 6 – 8 Students to Get Aid for 3 Years

New Delhi, 02 December, 2021 – The state government of Himachal Pradesh has implemented the Himachal Pradesh Swaran Jayanti Intermediate Scholarship Scheme, aiming to nurture youth and provide scholarships to outstanding Government school students in classes 6 to 8. The scholarship will be provided to selected students for 3 years.

HP Swaran Jayanti Middle Merit Scholarship Scheme – Benefits

Students will be selected as recipients of this scholarship scheme through a state-level examination. The exam will be conducted by the State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT), Solan every year. 

As per the scheme, the scholarship amount will be distributed among meritorious students of classes 6, 7 and 8 in the following way:

  • Class 6 – INR 4,000 per month
  • Class 7 – INR 5,000 per month
  • Class 8 – INR 6,000 per month

HP Swaran Jayanti Middle Merit Scholarship Scheme – Number of Scholarships

A total of 100 scholarships will be distributed among students of 12 districts under the scheme, as per the determined quota based on an average enrolment of government schools. The scholarship will be distributed  in the following way:

  • 1 scholarship to a student of Kinnaur
  • 1 scholarship to a student of Lahaul-Spiti
  • 5 scholarships to students of Bilaspur
  • 5 scholarships to students of Hamirpur
  • 7 scholarships to students of Una
  • 8 scholarships to students of Kullu
  • 11 scholarships to students of Shimla
  • 11 scholarships to students of Sirmour
  • 11 scholarships to students of Solan 
  • 12 scholarships to students of Chamba
  • 14 scholarships to students of Kangra
  • 14 scholarships to students of Mandi

HP Swaran Jayanti Middle Merit Scholarship Scheme – Eligibility Criteria

There are 2 main criteria that students must follow to apply for this scholarship scheme: 

  1. It will be mandatory for the students to have at least 75% attendance during the session.
  2. The condition of 75% attendance will not be applicable in case of acute illness or any medical exigency.
  3. To avail of the benefit of the scheme for 3 consecutive years, the student must continue to study in the government school without repeating any class.

  • Passport size photograph
  • Other significant documents

Although the start date and the deadline to apply for the scholarship have not been declared by the concerned authority, it will be announced on the official Himachal Pradesh ePASS website in due time. 

Career Assessment Test

Furthermore, the state is also implementing Medha Protsahan Yojana to provide training for outstanding students to take competitive exams at the national level after passing class 9. It is a free coaching scheme, which aims to encourage the students of the state to perform better.
