FAEA Scholarship – In the pursuit of higher education, financial challenges often hinder deserving students from achieving their dreams. The Foundation for Academic Excellence and Access (FAEA) is committed to the idea of education devoted to the founding of a just, productive and cultured society. It emphasises on the equality of opportunity. It helps students pursue what they want to become so that they have a choice and are not dictated by necessity. To address this issue, the Foundation has launched the FAEA Scholarship 2023-24. This scholarship is designed to help students who have passed Class 12 and are pursuing their undergraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering, and other technical and professional disciplines across India.

Scholarship Registration and Login

The FAEA Scholarship program provides comprehensive support to talented individuals from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them an access to quality higher education. Through this initiative, FAEA extends financial support to cover tuition fees, and living expenditures. The scholars are expected to excel academically. The continuance of scholarships is subject to good academic performance and availability of funds.

FAEA Scholarship – Eligibility Criteria

  • First-year undergraduate students who have successfully passed their Class 12 examination from a recognized board in India.
  • Applicants whose Class 12 results have not yet been declared should apply after the results are announced.
  • Students of the following sections are eligible:
    • Scheduled Tribe (ST)
    • Scheduled Caste (SC)
    • Other Backward Classes (OBC)
    • Below Poverty Line (BPL) 

FAEA Scholarship – Benefits

  • Benefits include financial aid for selected candidates to support their undergraduate courses.
  • Includes coverage for tuition fees, maintenance allowance or hostel and mess charges as per the norms.
  • Other allowances will cover travel, clothing and book purchase as per the norms.

Note:-

  • FAEA scholars are required to inform the FAEA office about any other grants, scholarships, or financial aid applicants receive for their study program.
  • Failure to report additional financial support or scholarships can lead to the withdrawal of the scholarship.

FAEA Scholarship – Selection Process

  • Shortlisted students will be invited for interviews across India in the metropolitan cities.
  • A national panel will make the final selection based on the interviews followed by declaration of results.
  • The scholarship support granted shall be subject to the candidate being accepted or admitted by the host university/institution/college.

FAEA Scholarship – Terms & Conditions

  • Incomplete application or application submitted after the last date shall not be considered.
  • Scholarships will be awarded for a maximum period of 5 years.
  • Recipients of the Foundation for Academic Excellence and Access (FAEA) scholarships are expected to demonstrate excellence in their studies and coursework.
  • Annual results from the host university, institution, or college must be forwarded to the FAEA office.
  • Scholars are required to submit periodic progress reports.

FAEA Scholarship – Scholarship Guidelines and Other Details

Scholarship Guidelines

  1. Study Location: This scholarship program offers scholars the flexibility to pursue their education at any university, institution, or college in India that aligns with their educational goals.
  2. Duration and Considerations: Scholarships can extend up to a maximum of 5 years and require annual renewal based on the scholar’s academic progress and the availability of funds from FAEA. Scholars must be enrolled in a full-time formal degree program.
  3. Deferment: Deferments (postponements) may be granted once for a maximum period of 1 year. Such requests for deferment should be submitted to the FAEA office in New Delhi, accompanied by supporting documentation or evidence. Deferments are considered in case of personal emergencies, such as serious illness within the scholar’s immediate family or adverse circumstances in their home state.
  4. Funds Disbursement: Funds will be directly disbursed to scholars, with the exception of tuition, hostel, and related fees, which will be paid directly to the educational institution. Applicants are encouraged to utilize on-campus housing and mess facilities.
  5. Award Amount: Award shall be determined by the FAEA to ensure alignment with budgetary guidelines. The final decision lies with the FAEA and it may cover the full cost of education for up to 5 years.
  6. Travel Assistance: For appearing in the interview, candidates shall receive second-class travel support for one round trip to the point of destination and return to their home city or village. In case of female candidates, reimbursement will be provided to one accompaniment.

Withdrawal of Awards

The scholarship awards may be subject to revocation or termination under certain circumstances, including but not limited to the following:

  1. Unsatisfactory Academic Progress: If a scholar fails to maintain satisfactory academic progress as per the established criteria, their scholarship may be revoked or terminated.
  2. Medical Condition: In the event of a scholar being affected by a physical or mental illness such that it hinders their ability to continue their program of study, the scholarship may be subject to withdrawal.
  3. False Declaration: Discovery of false declarations or misrepresentations by the scholar during the course of their scholarship will lead to the revocation or termination of the award.

Important Instructions

  • Confirmation Code: After having submitted the online application successfully, applicants will receive a 9-digit auto-generated “Confirmation Code.” Applicants should ensure to keep this code safely for any future correspondence with FAEA.
  • Document Submission: Applicants must not send any documents or certificates at the initial stage of the application process. If applicants are shortlisted in the preliminary round of selection, they will be notified to attend an interview. During the interview, applicants must bring their original documents. Failure to do so will result in disqualification for the scholarship.
  • Completeness of Application: Applicants must ensure that their application form is fully completed. Incomplete applications will not be considered further.
  • Contact Information: If applicants require clarification with regard to online application, they can send an email to inquiry@faeaindia.org. Please note that no other forms of communication, including telephone calls, conventional mail, or fax, will be entertained.
  • References: While selecting references, applicants must choose at least one person from the two options provided. They are as follows:
    • One who knows the applicant extremely well and has had the opportunity to observe and evaluate his or her work skills and academic abilities. 
    • One of the referees should be from a formal academic institution. 
    • If applicants are shortlisted for an interview, FAEA will contact the referees directly.
