New Delhi, 6 January 2022 – The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has re-extended the online application date for various scholarship schemes till 15th January 2022. The dates of the scholarships that have been extended are:
- AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girl Students (Technical Degree and Diploma)
- AICTE Saksham Scholarship for specially-abled students (Technical Degree and Diploma)
- AICTE SWATH Scholarship for Technical Degree and Diploma
Candidates who are eligible can apply for the scholarships worth Rs 50,000 per year at any of the below websites:
- The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) – www.scholarships.gov.in
- AICTE web portal – www.aicte-india.org
Initially, the last date for registering for the above-mentioned scholarships was 30th November 2021. However, the date was extended to 15th December 2021 to give more students the chance of applying for the scholarship.
Via a new notice, one of the officials of AICTE said, “Students can submit their new and renewed applications at the respective portal. They are advised to submit their applications promptly so that their institutions can check applications within the stipulated timeline.”
The last date for AICTE scholarship schemes were extended for the first level of verification of applications (new cases and renewal) by institutions, including defective applications that have been resubmitted. Besides, the second level of verification (new cases and renewal) by nodal state officials have also been extended to 31st January 2022.
AICTE Scholarship 2021-22 – Eligibility Criteria
AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme
- The scholarship is only open for students with disability
- The level of disability should not be less than 40%
- The annual income of the family should be less than INR 8 Lakh from all sources
- The students must have taken admission in the first year of a technical diploma/degree course at an AICTE recognised institution in India
AICTE Pragati Scheme for Girls
- Two girls per family are eligible to apply for the scholarship
- The annual family income of the applicant must not be more than INR 8 lakh during the preceding financial year. In case the applicant is married, the income of parents/in-laws is considered, whichever is higher

The online application submission date for the postgraduate (PG) scholarship has also been extended. Now, the candidates can apply for the AICTE PG scholarship till 31st January 2022. GATE, GPAT and CEED qualified students admitted to AICTE approved regular postgraduate programs can also apply for the scholarship online.
