Top scholarships for Mass Communication students

Just as the ‘Industrial Revolution’ brought about the ‘Industrial Age’, today, we are living in the ‘Age of Information’, all thanks to the ‘Digital Revolution’. Information, today, is everywhere and in the hands of everyone, all thanks to the advances in mass communication mediums used for the transmission of the information. Whether it is Entertainment, News, or Advertising, Mass Communication professionals of today have many more options available to take their message to the masses than they did even a quarter of a century ago.

As a discipline as well, the study of Mass Communication has seen plenty of advancement, with many top universities in India and abroad offering courses for students who wish to pursue a career in Mass Comm. These courses range from full-time graduate or post-graduate studies, to diploma certifications and even specializations. Many Indian and foreign universities also offer scholarships to students who would like to pursue Mass Communication as part of their studies. BU Executive Dean's Scholarship – Faculty of Media & Communication 2017

Launched by the Bournemouth University, this scholarship is for students who can demonstrate an outstanding academic profile related to mass communication course. The scholarship provides 50% tuition fee waiver to selected candidates.

Reuters-Oxford Journalism Fellowship Programme 2018

This scholarship is an initiative by the Reuters Institute and University of Oxford. The university is providing fellowship to journalists who have at least five years of work experience. The fellowship offers living and travelling allowance to the selected candidates.

Siksha O Anusandhan Admission cum Scholarship Test (SAAT) 2018

This scholarship has been designed for students who have passed Class 12 and it is also for graduates who are academically sound. This is test-based scholarship which will offer a scholarship of up to INR 50,000 on qualifying the exam.

Prabha Dutt Fellowship 2018

Sanskriti Foundation has started this fellowship for experienced women journalists who are working in print media. To be eligible for this scholarship, the candidates must be between the age of 25 to 40 years and should have published some substantial articles in renowned publications.

Reham al-Farra International Scholarship in Journalism 2017

Initiated by the Bournemouth University, this scholarship is for graduate students from around the world who want to pursue MA Multimedia Journalism as part of their higher studies. The scholarship is worth GBP 3000 for the selected students.
