What is the IICT-Netflix Scholarship?

Scholarship Registration and Login

The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies and Netflix have jointly launched a scholarship programme to support 100 students and working professionals across India who want to build careers in the AVGC-XR sector. The scholarships are part of the Netflix India Storytelling Initiative, launched after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos on August 5, 2026, to discuss India’s storytelling tradition and its pool of creative talent.

The initiative is designed to do more than fund tuition. Netflix has also contributed to shaping the curricula for the Visual Effects Mastery and Media Technology Workflows programmes, aligning them with current industry production practices. For students, this means the scholarship is tied to training that reflects how studios actually work today, not just classroom theory.

Buddy4Study - Education Loan

Candidates go through a five-stage, merit-based selection process:

1. Application & Eligibility Review – All submitted applications are thoroughly evaluated against minimum academic requirements and programme-specific criteria. Only fully completed files meeting the eligibility threshold will advance to the next evaluation stage.

2. Online MCQ Assessment –  Eligible candidates take an online multiple-choice test designed to measure fundamental aptitude, subject knowledge, and analytical skills. Scores from this assessment directly determine the shortlist for subsequent rounds.

3. Portfolio or Course Assessment – Shortlisted applicants undergo a practical evaluation tailored to their chosen discipline. Depending on the programme, this involves a portfolio review demonstrating creative/technical capability, a practical course assessment, or a combination of both.

4. Personal Interview – Candidates who successfully clear the practical assessment phase are invited to a personal interview. Panellists include IICT faculty members and representatives from the IICT–Netflix Scholarship Panel to assess candidate passion, industry alignment, and commitment.

5. Final Selection & Scholarship Offer – Cumulative scores across all evaluation stages, including the MCQ assessment, portfolio/course review, and interview, are aggregated to establish final rankings. Selected candidates will receive an official scholarship offer, while remaining applicants will be notified of waitlist status or an unsuccessful outcome.
