The above statement has turned out to be the key takeaway from the success story of Legrand Scholarship winner- Arzoo Priya. Her Intelligence, hard work and determination with an unpacified thirst to learn have paved the way of her success. With a dream of becoming an IAS officer and serving her nation, Arzoo has ventured on a journey which has been undeniably fostered by the boost that UGAM-Legrand Scholarship Program 2018-19 has provided her.
Staying a consistent performer throughout her academic career, Arzoo is sure to inspire others as well with her story. Below is the excerpt of her interview with Buddy4Study:
Buddy4Study: Share with us a brief background about your academic and professional journey until now
Arzoo: Talking about my academic background, I’ve always been good at studies. I always believed in hard work but with a little bit of smartness. Maybe that’s the reason why I was able to secure a position for myself in the state board matriculation examination merit list.
Buddy4Study: What motivated you to pursue a course in Engineering?
Arzoo: I find learning new things quite exciting and this was one of the main reasons to choose Computer Science Engineering (CSE) as my career option. My fascination for technology and computers was always there.
Buddy4Study: What were the key challenges faced by you during the course of your journey to reach here?
Arzoo: As I come from a middle-class family, this decision was not easy for me and my parents. However, they showed trust in me and got me enrolled in the best possible college by putting all their savings at stake with a belief that I won’t let them down.
Buddy4Study: What has been your source of inspiration?
Arzoo: My parents have been the biggest source of inspiration for me. Whenever I used to see them working hard for the betterment of my future, this thought naturally came to me that if they are providing me with all the facilities, I have to work hard and I can’t give up without giving my best.
Buddy4Study: How has your family supported you in your venture to pursue this course?
Arzoo: Undoubtedly my family has been very supportive throughout my journey. I never felt the pressure of scoring high grades from their side. I was always told to give my 100% without worrying about the results.
Buddy4Study: How did you come to know about the Legrand Scholarship? What were the steps followed to avail the scholarship?
Arzoo: I would like to give special thanks to Buddy4Study. It was because of them that I got to know about the Legrand Scholarship. So, I applied for it and fortunately, got shortlisted for the telephonic interview round and cleared that as well.
Buddy4Study: What are your ambitions in the future and how do you plan to execute them?
Arzoo: Now my plans for the future include my dream of serving the nation by becoming an IAS officer. It definitely won’t be easy but I am not going to give up easily. To further pursue this dream, I need to first complete my engineering and then focus entirely on achieving my ultimate goal.
Buddy4Study: Any piece of advice that you would like to impart to other potential aspirants like you who are constrained by various challenges towards pursuing higher education?
Arzoo: The piece of advice that I would like to share is don’t lose your focus, do what you are best at and don’t let any kind of constraint keep you away from achieving what’s yours and what you deserve. Always remember that determination is the key to success.
