NMMS Examination 2025 – Required Documents
The applicants need to submit necessary documents in order to apply for the NMMS examination. They are listed as under:
- Fee payment challan (SEB copy only)
- Aadhar card
- Passport size photograph
- Income certificate obtained from competent authority
- Class 7 report card or equivalent proof
- Caste certificate

How to Apply for NMMS Examination 2025?
The students must adhere to the step-by-step process mentioned below while applying for NMMS examination.
Entering the Details:
Step 1: Visit the official website (Websites of the Respective State Education Department)
Step 2: Navigate to the Apply Online Option on the Home Page.
Step 3: Click on the ‘Apply’ link for the ‘National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (For Standard VIII).’
Step 4: Application form will appear and students are required to fill in with required details.
Step 5: Enter the name of the student, Aadhaar number and other details of the student on the basis of U-DISE Number.
Note: For school details, students are required to enter the U-DISE number of the school, a pre-filled form will appear, students are required to confirm the details. (In case of any changes, enter new School UID code, click on ‘Change School’ button, and update the details).
Step 6: Enter the mobile number of parents, guardian, principal or teacher.
Step 7: Click on the ‘Submit’ button to submit the form. (Once the form is submitted, note down the application number for future reference and usage).
Uploading the Documents:
Step 1: Click on ‘Upload photo-Signature’ at the top of the page.
Step 2: Enter the application number and type your Date of Birth (DOB) to proceed.
Step 3: Click on the ‘Browse’ button.
Step 4: Now select the file with photograph and signature and click on the ‘Open’ button.
Step 5: Now click on ‘Confirm Application’, enter the application number and DOB.
Step 6: Click on the ‘Submit’ button and confirm the application by clicking on ‘Confirm’ and the application will be accepted online.
Step 7: Click on the ‘Print Application/Challan’ button.
(Note: To upload the photo and signature, the photo and signature should be in JPG format not exceeding more than 15 KB in size on the computer.)
Registration on National Scholarship Portal:
- Existing beneficiaries of the NMMS scheme in the current year are required to register on the National Scholarship Portal.
- It is mandatory for students to register on the NSP as per Aadhar Card.
- To avoid the mismatch of a student’s name in the school’s U-DISE and Aadhar card, the registration of application is required on the NSP.
- Also, students need to check the details in the online application form and fill the form correctly (it can’t be edited once submitted).
(Note: If Institute name is not appearing in the dropdown list, the applicants must ask their institutes to contact the concerned State Nodal officer of NMMSS for their registration through UDISE/AISHE/NCVT (DGT) code available on NSP portal.)
