The Government of Kerala invites applications from first-year graduate and post-graduate students of Kerala for State Merit Scholarship (SMS), Kerala 2020-21. The scholarship aims to support the education of needy students. Selected 300 graduate students will receive INR 1,250 per annum whereas 150 post-graduate students will receive INR 1,500 per annum under this scholarship scheme.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Be a first-year student of undergraduate or postgraduate course in Govt/ Aided colleges or University Departments
- Be a native of Kerala
- Have scored 50% or above in the qualifying examination.
- Have an annual family income not exceeding INR 1 lakh
Benefits The selected students will get the following benefits:
- INR 1,250 per annum to 300 graduate students
- INR 1,500 per annum to 150 postgraduate students
How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps -
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Read the guidelines carefully, select the undertaking and 'Continue'.
Step 3: Fill in the registration details of matriculation or equivalent examination.
Step 4: A registration id will be generated automatically.
Step 5: Proceed to complete the registration process and submit. (Note: Note down the registration id as well as the password for further reference.)
Step 6: Click on 'Candidate Login' to complete the application process.

Application deadline: 01st December 2020
Selection Criteria
Selection of the candidates will be based on their academic merit.
