Sony World Photography Awards Student Competition 2019 invites applications from students who are 18 to 30 years of age. With "evolution" being the first challenge of 2019, the applicants are encouraged to explore the evolution of the world we are living in through a photographic essay of 3–5 images.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility - The institution where the applicant is enrolled needs to be registered with the World Photography Organisation.
- The academic institution must teach a programme of photography (i.e., a formalised photography course).
- The applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age on the closing date of the competition.
- Applicants must be studying photography as their primary program/a recognised program to receive diploma/degree of study.
Benefits - A total of 10 photographers will be shortlisted who will be given Sony Digital Imaging equipment and flown to London to attend the Sony World Photography Awards ceremony.
- The winner of the competition will receive EUR 30,000 worth of Sony photography equipment for his or her institution.
How can you apply? The applicants need to apply through their respective institutions. Follow the below steps to apply for the competition:
Step 1: Get the institution registered here.
Step 2: Tutor has to fill in personal information like name, email address, country etc and click continue.
Step 3: Now fill in the details of the institute and complete the registration process.
Step 4: Three to five images must be submitted by the tutor.
Terms and Conditions
- The entries must be the original and not be copied from anywhere.
- The photographs should be in high resolution.
- The image can be altered digitally, but corresponding details must be provided.
- The photos taken must be between 1st June 2018 and 30th November 2018.
