Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Odisha 2023-24 is an initiative of the ST&SC and MBC Welfare Department of the Government of Odisha, for SC community students of the state who are studying in Class 9 and 10. The selected candidates will receive a consolidated academic allowance of up to ₹7,000 per annum.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be an Indian national
- be domiciled in Odisha
- belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community of the state
- be a regular full-time student of Class 9 and 10, studying in a government/private school recognised by the State Government/Central Board having a valid UDISE code
- have an annual parent(s)/guardian(s) income of not more than ₹2,50,000 from all sources
Benefits The eligible students will receive the following awards:-
Particulars Academic Allowance (per year in ₹)) Day Scholars 3,500 Hosteller 7,000 A 10% extra allowance will be given to Disabled students. The disability as defined under the Persons with Disabilities (equal opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation Act, 1995) Act has to be certified by competent medical authority of the State Govt./UT Administration.
Documents - A passport-size photograph
- One attested copy of academic transcripts including degree, certificate, etc.
- A valid caste certificate duly signed by an authorised Revenue Officer (RO), not below the rank of Tehsildar
- An income declaration by the self-employed parent(s)/guardian(s)
- A receipt in acknowledgement of the scholarship in the previous year (if applicable)
How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship by following the below-mentioned steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to register. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID.)
Step 3: Click on the 'Registration' button on the top of the dashboard and tick on the terms and conditions checkbox.
Step 4: Fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note:- If already registered, log in using valid credentials.)
Step 5: After successful registration, fill in the required details and submit.

Selection Criteria
The candidates will be selected based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

Terms and Conditions
- The scholarship will be given for only one year. A student will not receive a scholarship for repeating a class.
- The scholarship will be payable until the student passes Class 10.
- The income certificate will be taken only once which will be at the time of admission to the course.
- The Government of India at its own discretion can change the provisions of this scheme at any time.
- If any documents provided by students are found fake, the scholarship will be cancelled and the amount of the scholarship paid will be recovered from the student (if received any instalment), at the discretion of the concerned State Government.
- The student who has submitted any duplicate documents or wrong details will be permanently blacklisted and debarred for any scholarship.
- In case of discontinuation of studies, a scholar is liable to refund the scholarship amount at the discretion of the State Government.
- The candidates living in any state other than the state of domicile will be awarded a scholarship by the state they belong to and will submit their applications to the competent authority in that state.
- The scholarship is payable from 1st April or from the month of admission, whichever is later, to the month in which the examinations are completed, at the end of the academic year (including maintenance allowance during holidays), provided that if the scholar secures admission after the 20th day of a month, the amount will be paid from the month following the month of admission.
For Renewal of Scholarship:
- A student receiving a scholarship in Class 9 will be able to renew it for Class 10, subject to good conduct and regularity in attendance.
- The scholarship shall be auto-renewed based on the attendance and confirmation from the institution of the student having been promoted to the next class and having joined back the school/ institution.
