Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) for SC/ST Category, Bihar 2023-24 is an opportunity offered by the Education Department, Government of Bihar to SC/ST category students of the state studying at post-matric level in a recognized institution in the state. The selected candidates will receive a scholarship of up to ₹13,500 annually.
The selected students will also receive other benefits including maintenance allowance, reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees, study tour charges, thesis typing, book allowance, and book bank facilities. An additional allowance will also be given to disabled students for each academic year.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:
- be a domicile/resident of Bihar
- belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) category of Bihar
- have an annual family income of not more than ₹2,50,000 lakh from all sources
Benefits The selected candidates will receive the benefits in the following manner:

6,000 3,000 All post-matriculation non-degree courses (Post Class 10 level) 4,000 2,500 The selected students will receive the other benefits in the following manner:
- Maintenance allowance
- Reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees
- Study tour charges
- Thesis typing
- Book allowance
- Book bank facilities
Group Courses Hostellers (In ₹ for 10 months) Day Scholars (In ₹ for 10 months) Group 1 1) Degree and Postgraduate level courses in Medicine, Engineering, Technology, Planning, Architecture, Design, Fashion, Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary and Allied Sciences, Management, Business Finance/Administration, Computer Sciences and Applications.
2) Postgraduation Diploma courses in various branches of Management and Medicine
3)C.A/I.C.W.A./C.S./I.C.F.A. etc.(Applicable at Day Scholar rate only ₹550 per month)
4)M.Phil., Ph.D. and Post-doctoral Programmes (D.Lit., D.Sc. etc.), Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 courses
5) Commercial Pilot License (including helicopter pilot and multiengine rating) course.
6) L.L.M.
1,200 550 Group 2 Professional courses leading to degree, diploma, and certificate in Pharmacy (B. Pharma), Nursing (B.Nursing), BFS, and other para-medical branches like rehabilitation, diagnostics etc, Mass Communication, Hotel Management and Catering, Travel/Tourism/Hospitality Management, Interior Decoration, Commerical Arts, Finance for which entrance qualification is minimum senior secondary and vocational stream, ITI courses, and polytechnic where entrance qualification is Class 12 or above. 820 530 Group 3 Graduate and Postgraduate courses that are not covered under Group 1 and 2 [e.g. B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. etc, M.A./M.Sc./M.Ed./M.Pharma etc.] 570 300 Group 4 All Post-matriculation level non-degree courses for which the entrance qualification is High School (Class 10) 380 230 Note:
- Disabled students will receive a 10% extra allowance.
- Students pursuing CA/ICWA/CS/ICFA will be treated as day scholars for the purpose of academic allowance.
- Students studying through correspondence/online courses shall not be eligible for academic allowances.
- Commercial Pilot License Course (CPL) - The CPL course is covered under Group 'I'. The number of awards for CPL will be ₹10 per annum. The selection of 10 ST students for the CPL course will be made through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
- Application for the CPL course will be invited through advertisement. Interested ST students may apply for selection for a grant or scholarship for pursuing a CPL course.

Note:- All the documents must be uploaded in PDF format and under 150-400 KB in size.
How can you apply? Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship by following the below-mentioned steps -
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the ‘New Students Registration for SC-ST 2023-24’ tab. (Note - If already registered, click on the 'Login For Already Registered Students for SC-ST 2023-24' to proceed).
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick on the agreement boxes and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Step 5: Fill in the required details to register and click on the ‘Next’ button.
Step 6: Login using valid credentials (user ID, password, captcha code) to access the application form.
Step 7: Fill in the required details, upload the relevant documents and submit.
