Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) for BC/EBC Category, Bihar 2023-24 is an opportunity offered by the Education Department, Government of Bihar to BC/EBC category students of the state studying at the post-matric level in a recognized institution in the state. The selected candidates will receive a scholarship of up to INR 15,000 annually.
The selected students will also receive other benefits including maintenance allowance, reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees, study tour charges, thesis typing, book allowance, and book bank facilities. An additional allowance will also be given to disabled students for each academic year.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:
- be a domicile/resident of Bihar
- belong to the Backward Class (BC) or Economically Backward Class (EBC) category of Bihar
- have an annual family income of not more than INR 1,00,000 from all sources
Benefits The selected candidates will receive the benefits in the following manner:
Courses Amount (annually) Intermediate INR 2,000 Graduation (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.) degree INR 5,000 Post Graduation/M.Phil./Ph.D. level degree/courses INR 5,000 ITI INR 5,000 Polytechnic/Diploma INR 10,000 Professional/Technical degree/courses INR 15,000 The selected students will also receive other benefits including maintenance allowance, reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees, study tour charges, thesis typing, book allowance, and book bank facilities. An additional allowance will also be given to disabled students for each academic year.
Documents - Student passport-size photo (in jpeg format under 50KB)
- Class 10 and 12
- Graduation certificate
- Postgraduate certificate in pdf format (if applicable)
- Residential certificate
- Caste certificate
- Income certificate
- Bonafide certificate
- Fee receipt from Institution
- Last exam passing certificate
Note: All the documents must be uploaded in PDF format and under 150-400 KB in size.
How can you apply? Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship by following the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details (Note - If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID)
Step 3: Navigate to the ‘New Registration for BC/EBC 2023-24’ tab. (Note - If already registered, click on the 'Login for Already Registered Students for BC/EBC 2023-24' to proceed).
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick on the agreement boxes and click on the ‘Continue’ button.
Step 5: Fill in the required details to register and click on the ‘Next’ button.
Step 6: Login using valid credentials (user ID, password, captcha code) to access the application form.
Step 7: Fill in the required details, upload the relevant documents and submit.
