PM YASASVI Entrance Test (YET) 2023 is an initiative of the All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) for OBC, EBC and DNT category students who are studying in Classes 9 and 11 in a top school recognised by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

The aim of this scheme is to provide an inclusive society wherein members of the target groups can lead productive, safe and dignified lives with adequate support for their growth and development. A total of 30,000 selected candidates will receive financial assistance ranging from INR 75,000 to INR 1,25,000 per annum.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible, an applicant must-

    • be an Indian citizen
    • belong to Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC) and De-Notified Tribes category
    • be a Class 9 student born between 1st April 2007 and 31st March 2011 (both days inclusive)
    • be a Class 11 student born between 1st April 2005 and 31st March 2009 (both days inclusive)
    • be studying in Classes 9 or 11 in a top school recognised by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment
    • have passed Classes 8 and 10 in 2022-23 
    • have an annual family income of less than INR 2,50,000
    Benefits

    The selected students will receive annual benefits in the following sequence -

    • Selected students of Class 9 and 10 will receive up to INR 75,000.
    • Selected students of Class 11 and 12 will receive up to INR 1,25,000

     

    Note - The scholarship award follows the policy set by the State Government or Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. NTA is not involved in the scholarship selection process.

    Documents

    The following documents are required:

    •  A valid Government ID proof
    • Aadhaar card/UID number (compulsory)
    • Educational/qualification details
    • Scanned clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format (size between 10KB –200 KB) either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against a white background
    • Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format (size between 4 KB–30 KB)
    • Scanned copies of the following: (size 50 KB to 300 KB)
      • category certificate 
      • income certificate
      • Aadhaar card
      • PwD certificate, if applicable

    Note:

    • All the documents uploaded must be in PDF format and in a prescribed format.
    • A student is required to provide their Aadhar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication as proof of identification to benefit from the scheme.
    • A student child without an Aadhaar Number must apply for Aadhaar enrollment with parental consent, if eligible to obtain Aadhar to avail the benefits of the scheme.
    How can you apply?

    Eligible candidates can apply for the opportunity online through the following steps -

    Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
    Step 2: Click the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note - If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID)
    Step 3: Navigate to the 'New Candidate Register Here' option on the left-hand side of the page and click it.
    Step 4: Read all the instructions carefully, scroll down the page, tick the checkbox and click on the 'Click here to Proceed' button.
    Step 5: Now, fill in all the required details and click on 'Submit and Send OTP'.
    Step 6: Fill in the OTP to complete the registration to receive the 'Application Number'.
    Step 7: Once, the application number is received, click on the ‘login’ tab and add the system-generated application number followed by the password, personal details, examination centre etc.
    Step 8: Upload the necessary documents.
    Step 9: Click on the ‘Submit’ tab to complete the application process.

Selection Criteria

The candidates will be awarded subject to the following criteria -

  • Position of the candidate in the state-wise category-wise merit list
  • Verification of original documents/certificates
  • Availability of scholarships for the specified category in the State
  • Compliance with the eligibility requirements framed by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment
Terms and Conditions
  • A state-wise merit list will be prepared.
  • The exam will be conducted offline in pen and paper mode on OMR sheets.
  • The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi and English).
  • The students who fall under the category of PwD category will receive a compensatory time of one hour for an examination of three hours duration.
  • The scribe will be provided by the National Testing Agency.
  • The scribe will neither explain the questions nor suggest any solutions to the candidates. 
  • The applications of candidates submitting false and fabricated information will be rejected.
  • The students can submit only one application.
  • The details filled in certain specific fields may be changed only during the correction window only.
  • Requests for change in any particular application form will not be entertained after the closing of the correction window.
  • The candidates will not be allowed to appear at the examination centre without the admit card. 
  • The admit card will not be issued to the candidates whose applications are found to be incomplete.
  • The candidates are not allowed to carry any items including mobile phones, bluetooth earphones, food items or any other barred items.
  • No arrangement will be made at the centres for keeping any articles/items belonging of the candidates.
  • The choice of cities for the centre provided in the admit card will not be changed.
  • The candidates who adopt unfair means are liable to be disqualified.
  • Candidates do not need to pay any charges to make an online challenge on the answer key.
  • Candidates must undergo identity checks upon arrival at the test center to prevent unauthorized individuals from taking the test. Cooperation with security personnel is required for the security checks.
  • Candidates must avoid coming with more than one person (parent/ guardian). Any person coming with the candidate shall remain outside the gate during the conduct of the examination.
  • If a candidate changes their assigned room or seat without authorization, it will be considered unfair means, leading to the cancellation of their candidature without any appeals accepted.
  • Candidates must remain seated in the examination room until the full duration is over, following instructions given by the Center Superintendent/Invigilators. Leaving the seat or room without permission is not allowed.
